In this episode I interview Karen Svoboda, the Executive Director of Defense of Democracy, a National ,non-partisan, non-profit that is committed to educating the public about the value of inclusivity and the importance of emotional and physical safety for all individuals within the American public school and library systems. She talks about her childhood, a mom and dad who had very different political believes and how she continues to believe that we can be on opposite sides and be good people.

In this episode I talk about how our rights for inclusion, diversity, authenticity, and  basic decency are under attack and we, as a community, have to be brave enough to stand up in our power and make a choice. I give some facts on the 180 day playbook that we have heard about and is hitting the news channels and social media. Maya Angelou is credited with saying, ”When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time”. We need to pay attention.
