One Thing: We can rejoice now in the LORD for on that final Day, he will fully restore.


Three assurances that the LORD will fully restore:


The LORD has personal desires for his own possessions (vv.18-25)


The LORD is personally devoted to his own honor and glory (vv.26-29)


The LORD promised to deliver his people from his own judgment (vv.30-32)

One Thing: The Lord warns us of coming judgment because He lovingly wants us to return to Him.



The Lord’s warning: “Judgment is coming” (vv. 1-11)


The Lord’s invitation: “Return to me” (vv. 12-17)

- Return to the Lord with all your heart (vv.12-13a)
- Return to the Lord who is gracious and merciful (vv.13b-14)
- Return to the Lord together as His people (vv.15-17)

One Thing: The Lord Jesus blesses us in order that we may bless him.



I. The Lord Jesus blessed his disciples (vv. 50-51)

II. His disciples blessed the Lord Jesus (vv. 52-53)



Three implications:

1. We are not alone.

2. We are not without purpose.

3. We bless God best together.

Why did the risen Christ appear to his disciples?

1. To assure his disciples (vv. 36-43)

2. To teach his disciples (vv. 44-47)
