EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH MARK ALLEN — JEEP’S HEAD OF DESIGN | Podcast Episode 15
This week Jeep announced that Mark Allen, their Head of Design, has retired. Mark has been the driving force behind the aesthetics of models such as the Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, Renegade, Compass, Gladiator JT pickup, and of course the Wrangler JK and JL.
He joined us to talk about his 30 years with the brand, share memories of work with the Lunatic Fringe (the team that developed the Wrangler Rubicon) and how Jeep’s involvement with Easter Jeep Safari developed over the years. We also had a special discussion on Jeep’s hidden Easter eggs, his favorite Moab concepts, where you might bump into him in the future, and direction of the brand. Don’t work, he assures us Jeep is in good hands. Enjoy your G&T buddy, well deserved! -
Gone-GPN Podcast 14 - Rubicon Roundtable
The history of Rubicon dates back long before the 49ers headed over the Sierra Nevada to California’s Gold Rush towns—the indigenous Maidu Indians traversed this summer route to Lake Tahoe. The Rubicon Valley was settled in the 1880s and the Maidu’s footpath became a wagon trail and eventually a public road. In 1953, Mark A. Smith and members of the Georgetown Rotary started the Jeepers Jamboree, beginning the Rubicon’s 70-year legacy as the world’s most iconic four-wheel drive destination.
We’ve gathered the four of the most knowable and influential people in the industry to discuss what the future holds for the grandaddy of Jeep trails.

BFGoodrich East West Australia Jeep Expedition - Gone-Gpn Show Podcast Episode 12
Special Edition!
Episode 12 covers the 50th Anniversary crossing of the continent of Australia from East to West.
In 2019 members of the Gone-Gpn crew participated in the BFGoodrich East-West Australia Jeep Expedition on the 50th Anniversary of the original crossing of the team of 6 people and 3 Jeeps. The trip was led by Ian McDonald, and members included John Eggleston and Malcom Wilson.
The 2019 team had 13 members and 5 Jeeps and the used the Seven Slot line that has only been used by McDonald's team to cross the Simpson Desert.
The Simpson is Australia's 4th largest desert, covering just over 68,000 square miles. The Simpson Desert is an erg that contains the world's longest parallel sand dunes. These north-south oriented dunes are static, held in position by vegetation. They vary in height from 3 metres (9.8 ft) in the west to around 30 metres (98 ft) on the eastern side.
Join us as we talk with East-West Historian Vaughn Becker about the original crossing and the anniversary trip that was put together by Vaughn and Jeep Action Magazine's Ben Davidson.

Please, please, please replace Tracy with something more personable and likable. Rick is amazing as are all of the contributors. The show has so much potential but every time Tracy starts spewing discontent and her attitude I just turn this show off and move over to the latest episode of the Northwest Jeepcast…..
Bout time
Who else would you really want to listen to talk Jeep? I turned to podcasts when my JP mags stopped showing up in my garage, and have really missed the content.
