Great job!!
Solid Idea, but Sloppy Execution
I was looking forward to this podcast as a fan of the VSiN Podcast Network, but was disappointed with the quality of the show. Wes Reynolds is great as usual, but there is too much filler at the beginning of episodes. For the episode I just listened to, for the Formula 1 French Grand Prix, there were 7 minutes out of the 24 minute episode spent discussing the French Grand Prix. It’s okay to talk about the rest sport on the podcast, but that’s not what this episode is marketed as. Not to mention, I listened to the entire thing just to hear the hosts say that they are picking one of the two favorites to win the whole thing, without discussing props, the circuit, or anything else of substance. I understand the podcast probably has to fall under whatever restrictions VSiN tells the hosts to, but the work here really isn’t all that well done, which is a shame, because I feel like these two guys can contribute a lot to a podcast of this type. I’d really like the guys to go all in-depth on the race for the entire 24 minutes if possible, discussing the track, historical trends, tires, morale of teams, and more that can actually contribute to a winning betting strategy in the sport, instead of just saying Charles Leclerc will win because it’s a home race or Max Verstappen will win because he’s done well this year. When I listen to a betting podcast, I want, like I said, historical trends, info about the track, and proposition bets to be discussed. I understand if they want this to be an F1 news show, but that’s not what it’s marketed to be— and I promise you, very few people are going to VSiN for their Formula 1 news. Just dedicate more of the time to the subject of the podcast. Until then, I can’t give this more than 2 stars.
