Gut Punch #36: How To Hold Your Friend Through Grief Protect Your F*cking Sparkle

    • Personal Journals

In this extremely RAW episode, Zara addresses the topic she's been wildly avoiding (yet the topic that has sat front and center in her life for the last 2 years)—GRIEF. But this episode isn't about handling your *own* grief—it's about supporting ~someone else— in their grief. Our culture doesn't give us many tools to help us hold other people's grief—and because it's such a sensitive-yet-rarely-discussed subject matter—most of us have no clue what the hell to do when someone we love is in the thick of death, disease, heartbreak, etc. Often we just pretend our friend isn't going through grief and act as if nothing has happened (which only further isolates them).
In this episode Zara opens up about her own experience with grief and provides *all of you* with tangible ways to support others when they're going through the kind of things that can't be fixed.
Spoiler Alert: I choke cry a LOT in this one. But also give it to you REAL.
