Dr. Candice Nicole Hargons is an assistant professor of counseling psychology at the University of Kentucky (UK), where she studies sex, social justice, and leadership – all with a love ethic. Additionally, Dr. Hargons is the founder of the Center for Healing Racial Trauma. She is an award-winning qualitative researcher, teacher, leader, and healer. At UK, she directs the RISE2 Research Team (Relationships, Intimacy, and Sexual Enrichment/Race, Intersectionality, and Social justice Engagement). Dr. Hargons is the creator of the Black Lives Matter Meditation for Healing Racial Trauma, which has been featured in the Huffington Post and used by universities across the US. Her work has also been featured on the Liberate Meditation App, Therapy for Black Girls Podcast, and the New York Times.
