    Our special guests today are Nick Evans and Mustafa Latif-Aramesh. Nick and Mustafa work as a Partner and Legal Director respectively in our Planning, Infrastructure and Public Law department! Nick studied at the University of Warwick before being called to the Bar. Nick joined legacy Bircham Dyson Bell in 2000 where he has remained since, becoming Partner in 2007. Mustafa studied Law at Kings College London and joined legacy Bircham Dyson Bell in 2014 as a Trainee Solicitor. He has continued his legal career at the firm since his training, progressing from qualified Solicitor in 2016 to Legal Director in a short five years. Both Nick and Mustafa are Roll A Parliamentary Agents, and together they have some fantastic insights into their different routes to law, working on the UK’s biggest and most important infrastructure projects and the importance of the work Parliamentary Agents undertake.     Our special guest today is Matthew Smith, a Partner in our Litigation Department, and the Head of our Public and Regulatory Law team! Matthew studied Jurisprudence at University of Oxford before undertaking the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court Law School, and being called to the Bar in 1993. During his legal career, Matthew has worked at some extremely well known Chambers – Gatehouse (formerly Hardwicke) Chambers, One Crown Office Row, and Warwick House Chambers - , for several Law Firms, including Barlow Lyde & Gilbert and Capsticks, and for a number of central Government Departments, including what is now the Government Legal Department, HM Treasury, and the Home Office. Matthew also joined legacy Bircham Dyson Bell in 2004, returning again in 2017 and has remained with the firm since then. Matthew has some fantastic insights into what it is like qualifying as a barrister but working in a UK law firm, working in both public and private practice and what it is like working on some of the country’s most prominent inquiries and inquest.

    Our special guest today, on this International Women’s Day special episode, is Sarah Clark, a Partner in our Planning, Infrastructure and Public law team! Sarah studied Law at the University of Glasgow before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2005. Sarah is dual qualified in both English and Scots law, and has worked at some well-known firms during her legal career including MacRoberts, legacy Bircham Dyson Bell, Pinsent Masons and BDB Pitmans. Sarah joined legacy Bircham Dyson Bell in 2006, before moving to Pinsent Masons in 2013 and returning to our legacy firm again in 2014 where she has remained, becoming a Partner in 2016. Sarah has some fantastic insights into what it is like being dual qualified in both English and Scots law, her experiences in working in law as a woman and becoming a female Partner, as well as her work on some of the UK’s biggest infrastructure projects.     Our special guest today is Matt le Brocq, a second year Trainee Solicitor, currently sitting in the firm’s Litigation department! Matt studied Law at the University of Exeter with a year abroad at the University of Rennes studying a Master’s Degree in European Law before doing his LPC LLM at the University of Law. Matt joined BDB Pitmans formally in August 2017 as a Legal Administrator and subsequently a Paralegal after having done an internship at legacy Bircham Dyson Bell in August 2015. Matt then became a Trainee Solicitor at BDB Pitmans in September 2020. Matt provides some fantastic insights about his experience of studying law in France, the differences between working in-house and in private practice and how he drew from previous legal work experience in his applications.
