[BONUS] Book Review of ‘1491’ by Charles C. Mann
Here’s a bonus episode that’s a bit different than the usual scripted shows––a book review/analysis of ‘1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus’ by Charles C. Mann.
Lots of myth busting of misconceptions about indigenous people coupled with new research that shines a light of what the New World and its inhabitants were actually like. I figured it fits the theme of Thanksgiving so I’d release it into the main feed.

#62 Side By Side
Chang and Eng, twins connected by a band of flesh on their sternums, experienced more of the nineteenth century than perhaps anyone else: The East India Company, indentured servitude, freak shows, the American frontier, soot-stained Victorian England, the second great awakening, P.T. Barnum’s entertainment empire, slavery, the civil war, reconstruction, the unification of Germany, the gold rush.
This is the story of the original Siamese Twins!
Music by Brocker Way, Youth Lagoon, John Fahey, Federico Albanese, and Mulatu Astatke.

Just WOW
These are some of the most interesting and well thought out topics I’ve ever heard! The narrator is well spoken and very professional! The topics are fresh and not worn out on every other podcast(can’t wait to listen to the DnD podcast with the hubs) there is also no mention of politics and personal views which is refreshing!!! I hope there are so many more to come!
Super Interesting
So much thought out into the telling of wonderful historic tales.
Just discovered this podcast
I’m not a history buff, but this podcast is so interesting, so well-done that I’m hooked after three episodes. I highly recommend for those who love well-produced podcasts on any subject.
