If a person is called a citizen of heaven, a new creation, a member of God’s household, a beloved child of God, an heir with Christ, (we could go on and on) what would that look like in every day life? What does it look like to live this new life with King Jesus in a world that is enslaved to another king? What does it look like to live this life of freedom and fullness in the midst of a world that is lost in darkness and longing for hope?
That’s what we’re exploring together in 1 Thessalonians over the next couple months. It’s not crazy. It’s not fanatical. If Jesus is really risen from the dead, victorious over sin and death, and reigning as King, then this is the ordinary faith of His heavenly people. This is what everyday life looks like for all who belong to Jesus.
