You want to pray, but you don’t know what to say. Or you don’t know how to stay awake while attempting it. When you do pray, you wonder whether it’s having an impact or just bouncing off the ceiling. The best way to learn to pray? Start! Join Jen in praying about anything and everything from finances to moving beyond failures, because God’s Word invites us to draw near to Him and He will draw near to us (James 4:8). Her life has been changed by prayer and she’s praying yours will be too. (It’s also been changed by Pugs as well, so if you’re praying for a pet, she can help you out!) Jen is the host of the Midday Show on KSBJ in Houston, TX. The Hope Notes podcast is part of HOPE ON DEMAND. Life can be hard and overwhelming, and you might not always know what to do. Through videos, podcasts and blogs, we help connect you more deeply with God so you can live with hope.

Some of my favorite verses about forgiveness include Romans 12:18-21 "If possible, on your part, live at peace with everyone. Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead leave room for His wrath. For it is written: Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay, says the Lord. But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head. Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good." Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Colossians 3:13 "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any if you has a grieveance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."

Some of my favorite Scriptures on peace:

Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
