Poke Salad
Enjoyed Daniel’s experience with the quintessential Appalachian spring tonic, the laxative we mountaineers affectionally call poke berries. If you’ve ever been in bear country when they’re feeding on poke berries you’ll understand the effect the plant had on Daniel. They routinely “squirt” the purple juice 4 feet or more. As always, I’m enjoying the content you boys are “putting out” even if it is a little “loose” at times. Pass the paper please. - Steve Fielder
