In this capacity, Tønnessen is tasked with identifying and implementing pioneering technologies that can enhance the services and operations of Posten Norge. Tønnessen has previously held technology-related roles in the banking and finance, telecommunications, and logistics industries, where he gained experience in developing and implementing digital strategies, managing complex IT projects, and driving innovation. Posten Norge, also known as Norway Post, was established in 1647 and has since expanded to become one of Norway's largest employers with more than 12,000 employees. The organization offers a wide range of postal and logistics services, including freight transport, e-commerce solutions, and mail and parcel delivery.
