Join friends of 20 years Ben, Matt, Wesley, their newest best friend Emily, and a revolving door of guests, as they stumble their way through discussing, reviewing, griping about, and creatively revisiting and revising the biggest movies of 2007, which is considered to be one of the greatest film years of this century.
Bonus Episode - August Rush
A movie with a month in its' title means we have to record it in that month. So the gang reconvenes minus Wesley to catch up and chat about this musical non-musical. We discuss why the ending doesn't land as hard as it could have, the music choices, and who the real protagonist of this movie was. Then, Emily leads us through a game called Rejected August Rush.
Bonus Episode - Lust, Caution
Lust and caution? In the same movie? We gotta see this. Ben and Emily tackle this foreign Ang Lee film and discuss theater troupes turned assassins, sex as a character in the movie, and how to play mahjong. The mahjong must be where the caution comes in.
Lars and the Real Girl
Brandon stops by to impart some filmmaking knowledge and Matt is back, as our resident sex doll expert, to chat Lars and the Real Girl. We learn valuable lessons about social disorders, being a good neighbor and which famous dolls f**k. In Battle of Twits, Matt and Ben design sex dolls for each other, then go through the painful process of eulogizing them after their death.
Meet the Robinsons
Rachel hangs out with us this week to talk her favorite movie, Meet the Robinsons. We attempt to diagnose what's wrong with Goob to make him look like that, Rachel pulls out the pedigree she made of the Robinson family, and Emily makes a bold claim about this movie's twist. In Battle of Twits, Rachel and Emily enter the Shark Tank to pitch their world improving invention.
Another Stephen King movie, Another Dylan guest appearance as we discuss our introductions to Stephen King's stories, the multiple endings of this movie that exist and how shaken Emily got trying to get through it. In Battle of Twits, Ben and Dylan share the worst thing to ever happen in room 1409. Does it compare to what happened in 1408? It's definitely shittier.
This episode is sweeter than apple pie as Lacy and Mella from the podcast When Cinephiles Attack join us for a slice and to chat the Keri Russell movie Waitress. We try to figure out what exactly this movie is, why all the men in the movie are so s****y, and why the baking in this movie made Emily so angry. Two cinephiles enter, but only one can win, as Lacy and Mella square off in Battle of Twits as they attempt to verbally bake a delicious pie from ingredients given to them by their opponent.

Great Troupe of Uniquely Funny People
Started with “Live Free or Die Hard” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks” episodes (don’t at me). Ben, Matt, Wesley and Emily each have unique perspectives that help the show gel. SO FUNNY! Really enjoying the second half, with group questions that go off the rails a bit more. Top notch production quality makes you feel there with good friends. I’m telling my friends to listen! Subscriber forever.
Always a fun listen!
Really enjoy this group and the guests they bring on every now and then. They always create a fun banter and dynamic between each of them and the concept of sticking to one particular year of film gives the show a unique identity. Come to hear some good movie talk and stay for some exciting games and moments amongst friends!
