In 1994, Jen was sent to a "therapeutic boarding school" in The Middle of Nowhere, Montana. (She had some issues.) That meant a lot of things, but one is that Jen missed two full years of popular culture when she was 16-18 years old. Join Jen and her husband Micah and revisit your old faves as they travel back to the mid-90s to watch, listen to, and talk about what Jen missed.

    Gargoyles - S1 Eps 11-13 with Shift

We finally did it! We finished our last chapter of our Gargoyles adventure. Boy am I gonna miss that loin cloth. More importantly though, this week we are joined by a very special guest and friend, Shift, who shares some of his brilliance with us. This was recorded a couple weeks ago, just after the […]

    Gargoyles – S1 Eps 9-10

‘Goyles! We’re talking about ‘Goyles again as all the superfans call Gargoyles. Just two episode recaps this week because it’s a Sunday on See You in the Funny Papers and Micah got excited. Also Jen brings it hard with a new educational segment about US History (see U.S. Constitution Article XIII(c)i). She also brings it […]

    Gargoyles - The Remaining Awakenings

We continue awakening with the Gargoyles this week as we cover the episodes entitled Awakening, Part 3, Awakening, Part 4, and, you guessed it, Awakening, Part 5! Gargoyles S1 Eps 1-2

Gargoyles! We watched some of it, but we didn’t really talk about it much. So if you got excited, we’re sorry. Gargoyles was a cartoon show on in 1994, but you wouldn’t know that from listening to this episode that is purportedly about said cartoon show. Micah does his really dumb and long segment and […]

    Outbreak

    Outbreak

Heeeeeeyyyyy. So, yeah, we decided to watch 1995’s Outbreak. Just now. Yes, that Outbreak. Because what better time to watch a movie about a terrifying pandemic than during an actual pandemic? We don’t dwell on gross details, but we get it if you’re not up for this topic right now. Don’t worry though, we still […]

Incredible podcast that should be on everyone’s playlists

I Never Saw That straddles the line between humor and humanity between the discussion of mid-90s pop culture from movies, TV, and music (as well as the fantastic discussion of comics in "See You In The Funny Papers" and discussion of Jen's experience at a boarding school that had some questionable thoughts about therapy and left scars in Jen's psyche that she works through as she discusses it on the podcast. It's made me laugh with Micah and Jen and driven me to tears when Jen discusses her experience. It's a fantastic podcast and one that I'm very happy that exists and I get to listen to it.

I Never Reviewed That!

I can’t believe I’ve never reviewed this podcast before. INST is a classic. I love listening to the stuff they like and I even love listening to the stuff they don’t like, which is rare for me. They’re also great people. So. Like. Listen to them.

Unique 90s Pop Culture Analysis

A funny and uniquely touching take on 90s pop culture. I started with the Hackers episode but starting with episode one would probably be best. Then let your fingers be your guide.

Jen and Micah are very funny and they've got a lot of good insight into the shows and movies they're discussing.

The show is an interesting intersection of pop culture and trauma and I know that sounds odd but it WORKS and I love it!
