‘Old time’ type radio dramas are my ‘go to’ for bedtime stories. Too often, the sound quality suffers to point I actually miss dialogue. I suffered through ubiquitous scratchy interference, buzzing, silence, and repetition of lines (like an LP record skipping).😖 This Podcast ‘s quality for both audio and background sound is flawless!😊 Not sure whether it’s due to contemporary recording or simply masterful sound engineering. It sets a high standard to compare all other ‘old time’ type radio podcasts. Another positive is variable episode length : allows for a quick listen or a ‘to be continued tomorrow night’ if I fall asleep. Wish producers of this would create LOTS more episodes for other detective/mystery authors.

Use headphones with caution, there’s an popping noise in some of these recordings that shoots me out of my skin every time. Still a great program.
