RILEY GAINES | Swimming Against the Current (Ep. 607)

RILEY GAINES | Swimming Against the Current (Ep. 607)

In this episode, we welcome Riley Gaines to the show. She is a 12x All-American and champion collegiate swimmer, a womens’/girls’ rights advocate, and America’s most sought-after voice in the fight to save female sports. She swam for the University of Kentucky where she won multiple titles and awards. At the 2022 NCAA Division 1 Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships, her life changed forever. She finished the final for the 200-meter freestyle championship, and when she looked up at the board, it showed that she had actually tied someone for 5th place. That someone? A University of Pennsylvania swimmer named Lia Thomas, formerly known as Will Thomas who had previously competed on the men’s team. After that, Riley spoke out against the fact that she had to compete against a biological male and how no other females should be subjected to that treatment. In this interview, we discuss what it was like growing up in a family of high-level athletes, when she and her team became aware of Lia Thomas, what it was like being forced to change in the same locker room as Thomas who freely displayed his male genitalia while present, what was going through her head when she saw that she had tied him in her championship race, the NCAA refusing to allow her to receive and be pictured with the trophy she earned, why she decided to speak out against men competing in women’s sports, the vitriol she experiences online and at speaking engagements for standing up for basic truths, how her Christian faith is sustaining her as she fights for the rights of women and girls, what parents can and should do to support their girls as they strive to participate in fair competitions, what’s next for her, and much more. VODDIE BAUCHAM | It's Not Like Being Black (Ep. 604)

In this episode, we welcome the great Voddie Baucham back to the show. He is a Reformed pastor, author, church planter, and sought-after speaker that currently serves as the Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia. He has written many incredibly important books, such as Fault Lines: The Social Justice Movement, Evangelicalism's Looming Catastrophe and Family Shepherds: Calling and Equipping Men to Lead Their Homes, and his latest book called It’s Not Like Being Black: How Sexual Activists Hijacked the Civil Rights Movement. In this interview, we discuss the continued success of Fault Lines, where he got the idea for the new book, how “sexual minorities” have hijacked the civil rights movements, the slow and methodical process that allowed for the societal upheaval we are currently experiencing, some of the most influential men behind this cultural change, how successful the process of the normalization of the LGBTQ+ lifestyle has been, how we can respond to people that ask us “why do you care what people do in the privacy of their own homes?”, what we stand to lose if we refuse to defend the definition and sanctity of marriage, how pastors’ sermons on homosexuality die the death of a thousand qualifications, how we should prepare for the societal unrest that will surely come after the 2024 presidential election, and much more. Man!

I listen to a lot of podcasts and find myself searching for podcasts with authentic men that worship Jesus. Kyle is the real deal! Great guests and solid praise for The Lion of Judah! You won’t be disappointed if you’re a man seeking genuine Godly discussions.

I wrote that well over 6 months ago ☝🏻 I guess I never sent it… But episode 385 with Dallas Jenkins, what a great interview. I reluctantly started watching The Chosen thinking it was going to be another cheap, cheesy depictions of the same old stories… boy, was I wrong. What a great series! My favorite thing about it, fiction or otherwise, is that Dallas makes you think about WHO these people (characters) from the Bible are. Even though they are his imagination, I find myself wanting it to be true. That these disciples and other personalities from the Bible had lives and experiences before they met Jesus and how those experiences became testimonies. I could go on and on about it but not only do I highly recommend The Chosen, but I also highly recommend this podcast, Undaunted (A Man’s Podcast). Thank you Kyle for the many educational and entertaining podcasts that I enjoy on my my commutes

Is there something wrong with the “send” button on apple podcast reviews??? I jumped on here to write another review and this👆🏻never sent. So let’s try this again! And great podcast. Listen to it!! -Mike
