The School Choice REVOLUTION - Parental Power in a New Era of Education

The School Choice REVOLUTION - Parental Power in a New Era of Education

Is a failed microschool in West Virginia the key to revolutionizing education accountability across America? In this eye-opening episode of The Brian Nichols Show, Brian sits down with Matt Frendewey from the Yes Every Kid Foundation to discuss how a shuttered school called The Hive Learning Academy demonstrates the true power of school choice.

Studio Sponsor: Cardio Miracle - "Unlock the secret to a healthier heart, increased energy levels, and transform your cardiovascular fitness like never before.": https://www.briannicholsshow.com/heart

Matt argues that parents having the ability to withdraw their children and funding from an unsatisfactory school is the ultimate form of accountability - a stark contrast to the lack of consequences faced by failing public school districts in cities like Baltimore and Chicago. He believes that the growing popularity of school choice programs across the country is a sign that parents are fed up with being told they have no say in their children's education.

Brian and Matt also explore the emerging education marketplace, where talented teachers are leaving the public school system to start their own schools or join unconventional learning environments. They discuss the importance of focusing on what's best for families when designing education policies and the need for policymakers to embrace the concept of true accountability through parental choice.

Throughout the conversation, Brian and Matt celebrate the significant wins the school choice movement has achieved in recent years, with over half of U.S. states now embracing Educational Savings Accounts and other choice programs. They emphasize the importance of acknowledging these successes while continuing to push for greater educational freedom.

Tune in to this thought-provoking episode to learn more about how a small school's closure in West Virginia could hold the key to unlocking a brighter future for students across America. Censorship, Concentration Camps, & Surveillance - The Dark Side of FDR & the New Deal

Censorship, Concentration Camps, & Surveillance - The Dark Side of FDR & the New Deal

Did you know that FDR, one of America's most heralded presidents, censored his critics, put American minorities into glorified concentration camps, and laid the groundwork for today's surveillance state? In this eye-opening episode of The Brian Nichols Show, host Brian Nichols sits down with Professor David Beito to discuss the untold story of FDR's war on civil liberties.

Studio Sponsor: Cardio Miracle - "Unlock the secret to a healthier heart, increased energy levels, and transform your cardiovascular fitness like never before.": https://www.briannicholsshow.com/heart

Professor Beito, a historian and author of the new book "The New Deal's War on the Bill of Rights," reveals the shocking extent of FDR's hands-on involvement in violating the constitutional rights of American citizens. From the internment of Japanese Americans to the censorship of press and radio, FDR's ruthless "anything to achieve the goal" attitude led to a jaded and cynical approach to civil liberties.

The parallels between FDR's actions and current events are striking, as evidenced by the recent Twitter files exposing government attempts to discredit and censor dissenting voices. Professor Beito emphasizes the need for left and right to come together in defense of civil liberties, drawing inspiration from the coalitions formed by prominent figures like Norman Thomas and the Chicago Tribune's publisher during the 1930s.

Throughout the conversation, Brian and Professor Beito delve into FDR's legacy, challenging the narrative that he "saved" America from the Great Depression and examining his troubling record on race relations. They also discuss the importance of learning from history to prevent the erosion of civil liberties in the face of current challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Don't miss this thought-provoking episode that sheds light on a chapter of American history often overlooked in the classroom. Grab a copy of Professor Beito's book "The New Deal's War on the Bill of Rights" to learn more about FDR's concentration camps, censorship, and mass surveillance, and join the conversation on protecting civil liberties for all.

Great blending of advocacy, marketing and sales in the name of Liberty

Great show, consistently insightful every day. In only 20 minutes, you can acquire the tools and strategies to advocate for libertarian principles from the perspective of a successful business development professional. As a technology sales professional myself I appreciate where Brian is coming from. I also appreciate the access and unique guests that he is able to attract, and Brian describes how libertarian ideas can be sold and packaged and used to persuade others better no matter who is involved!!!

You conflate Portland with libertarians. You conflate victimless crime with property crimes where there are victims.

You need to search your soul and mind. You may have some points, but destroy your credibility by your ignorance.
