Orange and Brown Talk: Cleveland Browns Podcast Advance Sports Podcasts

The Browns exercised the fifth-year option on cornerback Greg Newsome II on Tuesday, locking him in through the 2025 season. What happens after that will be interesting given the number of defensive backs the team could be paying by then.
Mary Kay Cabot and Dan Labbe begin Tuesday's Hey, Mary Kay! edition of the Orange and Brown Talk Podcast by discussing Newsome and why picking up the option made sense as well as whether the Browns could engage in longterm contract discussions with their 2021 first-round pick.
They also discuss the quarterback room and the battle between Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Tyler Huntley for the third QB job and how long the leash will be on Deshaun Watson this season before answering questions about two draft picks from a year ago and discussing the possibilities for the stadium.

The Browns had a mostly uneventful draft weekend, staying put and making picks to add depth to their roster in what was their final draft without a first-round pick as a result of the Deshaun Watson trade.
Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe looked at the picks the Browns made on Monday’s Orange and Brown Talk podcast and discussed what the picks told them about the Browns roster and what they think about it.
They discuss the addition of a defensive tackle, why they didn’t add a wide receiver and what state the Browns roster as a whole is in at the moment.

The Houston Texans made the final pick in the Deshaun Watson deal on Saturday in the NFL Draft, meaning the trade is officially done. Now it’s just about where both teams go from here and, more importantly for the Browns, if Watson can get healthy and do what the Browns hoped when they made the deal.

The Browns beefed up the trenches on Friday night in the NFL Draft, staying put in their original spots and picking defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr. at No. 54 and guard Zak Zinter at No. 85.
At the end of the night, Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe discussed the picks the Browns made and cleveland.com's draft expert Tim Bielik offered his quick analysis of both picks.
They discuss the decision to stick and pick Hall instead of taking the offers that were available to them to trade out of the 54th pick.
Then they get into the not-so-pleasant connection Hall and Zinter have and how bizarre it is before they discuss Zinter's future role and what it means for Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller.

The NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday night and we're getting you ready with a full first round mock draft.
For the third year in a row, the Orange and Brown Talk and Buckeye Talk crews got together and made every pick in the first round. Nathan Baird, Tim Bielik, Andrew Gillis, Dan Labbe, Stephen Means and Jimmy Watkins were all assigned teams and they worked their way through the first 32 picks, making trades and filling needs along the way.
While the first pick was a no-brainer, things got interesting after that and included discussions on Justin Fields in Pittsburgh and which Buckeyes player could be the first to go in their class next year.
