Come into Kylie world!

WOW! This podcast is just great! I’m a newbie to the Kylie Minogue world, and what an amazing journey this podcast is. I’m listening along to Kylie Minogue‘s full discography as I listen to each episode of the podcast. It’s so fun and interesting to hear these SuperFans talk about their favorite and least favorite tracks respectively. These two are hilarious too! This is definitely a perfect cure to your quarantine depression!

Good Podcast

This is a (mostly) chronological review of Kylie’s phenomenal career. There are plenty of fascinating conversations and occasionally wonderful interviews. The hosts have excellent chemistry and keep the conversation flowing. Kieran is delightful and knowledgeable. Christian is almost always wrong but often wonderfully funny. Well worth a listen if you’re a Kylie fan.

Kylie’s Music Deserves a Bit More

Kylie Minogue may be one of the most underestimated pop icons of the modern era, and her longevity in the music industry rivals Madonna’s. Still, very little critical thought has been applied to her artistry. It is high time that a podcast was dedicated to the musical musing of Ms. Minogue. It is a shame that Kylie Minogue: The Dimmunitive Collection Podcast, hosted by Keiran and ChristyG, is the first and, so far, the only podcast available. I wonder how one can produce a podcast about music and yet never actually play a single song from Kylie’s extensive catalog in 37 episodes! This podcast is about Kylie’s artistry, and instead of hearing a piece of music or snippets, we get to listen to two hosts drone on for an hour. I also have to wonder if the underwhelmed continuously and sour ChristyG is even a fan of Kylie. He appears to dislike every reinvention and experimentation Kylie has made in her career. Of course, not all fans need or should love everything that a musician produces, but ChristyG hates anytime Kylie’s music moves away from her original SAW sound or doesn’t mimic her later years. In his opinion Kylie should stay in a box and not take risks and evolve as an artist, let alone experiment with sounds deemed “too American,” which is problematic considering the “American” sound tends to be Black music like R
