    Using EMDR to Overcome Trauma

    Get Unstuck From Emotional Trauma
I have a special treat for you today! I have invited my very own counselor, Carrie Ryberg, to come on the show today and explain a type of emotional therapy called Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR for short.

That’s a mouthful to explain a relatively simple way of helping your brain reprocess painful memories. I have experienced first-hand the effectiveness of this type of therapy but I’m not always able to adequately explain it to others. So I invited the expert on to tell you why it works and how it can help you overcome trauma.

    About Carrie Ryberg
Carrie Ryberg is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in IL with nearly a decade of experience counseling adults, adolescents, and couples on a variety of areas. We All Need Resilience!

Elizabeth Meyers is the real deal. Who better to talk about resilience than an Air Force Academy graduate and homeschooling mother of 8? Her faith is her driving force, and she has picked up valuable life hacks along the way. Elizabeth is a gracious interviewer who leaves her audience believing they can accomplish whatever is before them. As we prepared to record a podcast, she had just returned home from a dental appointment for seven people, she and six of her children. And I was feeling good because I had flossed! I still feel pretty good about that.

Real and inspirational

I love Elizabeth and her gentle wisdom. She understands struggles but doesn’t let it shake her faith. I always feel inspired after listening to podcast.

Uplifting truth and encouragement

Having recently been through a family trauma, this podcast has been a lifesaver for me.... it has given me tools and encouraged me in ways that only people who have walked through trauma themselves can encourage. It has given words to feelings I have been experiencing. Thank you for sharing!
