Delightfully Cozy and Community-Oriented
I was feeling hungry for the Halloween spirit this year, and after listening to Girls, Guts, and Giallo, I remembered one of Annie Rose’s guests mentioning she ran an all year Halloween podcast; and let me tell you, this is exactly what the doctor ordered. Informative, comforting, and cultivating a broad network of Halloween-themed stories and traditions, this podcast kept me company and inspired me to do more than just watch horror movies this Halloween (even if it was just dressing up in a “business appropriate” witch costume and bringing in a big bowl of candy to my office). Luce is a delightful host, gentle and thoughtful and enthusiastic in exploring the myriad of ways history has impacted our beloved holiday. If your restless spirit longs to bask in Halloween-y goodness, It’s Always Halloween has got your back!
Keep those spooky vibes happening all year long!
I came across this podcast at the start of the hot weather here in Florida (i.e., March) and it was the perfect solution to help uplift my Autumnal soul. I started listening for the Halloween history episodes but quickly grew to enjoy the small frights episodes, which are more frequent, community-oriented, and focus on our modern Halloween culture and experience—effectively documenting that history as it happens. I have seen a handful of reviews that complain about Lucé’s personal opinions on the podcast. Frankly, I don’t agree with her on everything (LGBTQIA+ rights and recognition - fully onboard; anti-capitalist - not so much), but—and I know this is a hot take for some of you—believe it or not, it is not just OK but in fact healthy to expose yourself to viewpoints that may differ from your own. I have always found Lucé to come from a place of love, inclusiveness, and community first and foremost and I would hope these are traits we should all aspire to embody. Please don’t let those naysayers spoil your enjoyment of this podcast and the amazing community that she has created in such a short time. We may just be starting to see a hint of Fall here in Florida, but what does that matter? After all, it’s *always* Halloween!
Podcast perfection
Lucé is hands down my favorite podcast host EVER. She gives us Halloween all year long,& delivers it with a genuine sincerity all the while being witty,insightful,& fun. I don't binge shows,but this one is binge worthy. 5 stars!!!
