EP 28: Being an Entrepreneur in Denmark While Raising An International Family

EP 28: Being an Entrepreneur in Denmark While Raising An International Family

I am noticing so many international moms are creating their own jobs since they are having trouble finding a job in Denmark. It can be an online Anime Teacher, being a photographer, or even a yoga teacher AND so much more. I can keep the list going on the different projects different moms are doing while living in Denmark.
I am currently going through the same thing with my job search. It is difficult to find a job in Denmark, so now I created my website that will help families find all the kid-friendly places around them.
But, how can I create this goal to be set in motion? Well, I have a guest that will speak on how to become an entrepreneur or have the mindset of one; whether you're looking for a job or want to start your own business.
My guest is from Spain. She is actually half Spanish and Romanian. Her husband is Dane and they have 2 kids together living in Denmark.  She has a really cool company called We are Entrepreneur that helps people in Denmark and really globally TO get their business started. Sometimes people have a really great skill, for example, making jewelry, is a chef that wants to start a restaurant and really anything BUT don’t have the business sense to start it, Her company will guide you every step of the way. Let me introduce you to Diana Medrea-Mogensen.

Ep 27: Why I Changed Careers When I Moved To Denmark With Katie Garth

Ep 27: Why I Changed Careers When I Moved To Denmark With Katie Garth

Today I really want to talk about Career Change. The more I talk to International moms I am noticing more and more people changing careers or having completely different jobs when living in Denmark.
Why do we as an international feel like we need to change careers when we live in Denmark? I definitely did a big career change when I moved to Denmark. I was working in the Beverage industry in Sales and Marketing, and when I moved to Denmark I shifted my industry and career to Technology and Telecom.
A career change, language, the country is a big shift for some people, but when you have an entire family going through the same thing - WOW. That transition must be hard not only for parents but for the kids too.
So Today, I have a guest who completely changed her career from being a Children's nurse in the UK to an internal coordinator at one of the biggest turbine companies in the world.
We will be talking about how she ended up in Denmark, how her kids transitioned to life in Denmark, AND her career shift from nurse to office work.
Let me introduce you all to Katie Garth from the UK.

Ep 26: Going Back To School And Changing Careers In Denmark As An Expat Mother

Ep 26: Going Back To School And Changing Careers In Denmark As An Expat Mother

I have talked to so many internationals/expats/immigrants living in Denmark and for some reason, many of them have the same pattern - Going back to school and Changing their Careers when they move to Denmark. I want to find out why so many expats and internationals decide to change careers when they move to Denmark.
Imagine going to school and working for years in your home country, but when you move to Denmark, nothing is equivalent to education here in Denmark. OR you simply can’t get a job because the Danish language is highly required for the positions.
    WHAT WOULD YOU DO???
I’ve met with expat and immigrants that are: psychologists, doctors, and dentists that moved to Denmark from abroad and They told me if they want to practice in Denmark - They will have to go back to school to get certification to practice in Denmark. Of course, many of them do return to school, but some of them decide to completely change careers.
Kelly Kristensen my guest will be talking about her move to Denmark, changing careers, and going back to school as an adult in a whole different country. She will be talking about her experience and how different the school system in Denmark really is.
Also, she will talk about her Blog, My New Danish Life, and YouTube Channel. You can also check it out and see what she is up to with her family.

Get ready to listen to this fun podcast on life in Denmark as a mother.
    Listen, Laugh and Enjoy!

Amazing Interview

I have been a guess of Jacklyn on her podcast. It amazes me how cathartic it was for me to share my story of living in Denmark and other parts of the word.

It reminded me how grateful I am to have had such an interesting life.

Thank you again for wanting to share my story. I hope it will be an inspiration to someone who needs it.

Jacklyn is a great interviewer.

Refreshing content!

As a TCK (Third Culture Kid) myself - I can really relate to this podcast! I have always found it really interesting to see how people adjust to different cultures while still trying to maintain their own special traditions. So excited to hear more from Jackie!
