Please Don’t Get Another Companion Animal

I have nothing but well wishes for you personally. I deeply believe you when you imply that James is an abusive person (he seems like a genuine terror behind closed doors), and I deeply believe you when you relay your experiences with a narcissist like Sandoval and how possible it is to get wrapped up in their horrendous manipulation. It takes so much strength to break that cycle, and you did it! I just have to say, though, that you really failed Graham and implore you to never have another dependent until you learn how to be a responsible guardian. Allowing abusive James to treat this innocent dog that way for years and then afterwards “choosing yourself” when your dog needed you most is irresponsible and enraging to think about. When your parents irresponsibly “gave you a present,” it was actually a life—a precious, worthy life who you in turn should have committed to for his entire life. And it is NOT only your business, as you claim. Animals aren’t yours to do whatever you wish with. It is everyone’s business how you treat vulnerable beings, be they kids, the elderly, or animals. Please try to develop empathy for the life you created for Graham, for which YOU are responsible; your choices are ones he had no say in and he has no choice but to live with forever, while you “move forward” while he remains with an abusive person. Please sue for him, make it right, do something. It’s sickening how failed this dog was by you and others, and I hope you actually learn from it and don’t hurt another innocent animal this way. I know it wasn’t your intention, but the damage is real. Thank you for your vulnerability.

Mediocre podcast

She really needs a life! Talks about the same thing over and over. Also, is very involved with people she doesn’t like or want to get away from. Very hypocritical and watches these people every move.

Great insights

As someone who didn't watch VPR until stumbling across Rachel's podcast, I think I'm pretty unbiased. She's takes accountability and I've also learned some new things that I can use to reflect on my life. One thing I do know and it's relevant for some of these reviews is that apathy is lazy. If you're apathetic, you can not envision yourself in someone else's shoes because that's too much work. Empathy is learned and taught many times on this podcast, Rachel is asked to reflect on others reactions, she does so and in a very human way. I really think we live in a world that doesn't understand the meaning of what holding yourself accountable is. We can't erase the past and it's almost like nothing would be good enough for a lot of you out there unless we had superpowers to undo things we've done. Meaning, you couldn't even undo your own unattainable standards. We're all human so really, stop being so abusive towards others
