David Lassman ,

A dud for the great Jim Hill

Jim Hill, who hosts multiple podcasts focusing on theme park and entertainment history, has a rate dud in his newest podcast. His cohost, Lauren, tries way to hard to be engaging. Even though all of Jim Hill’s podcasts are planned out with program notes, the other cohosts mesh well with Jim Hill and their discussions come off as real and free flowing. Lauren’s faux enthusiasm for a topic is grating and artificial. Jim Hill will give her softball comments to move the discussion forward, but she focus so hard on finishing one of her long winded thoughts and she ends up in cringe territory. I will likely listen to future episodes, but fast forward through Lauren’s inane comments on collectibles and get to Jim Hill’s history segments. In fact, Jim Hill might do better to discontinue this podcast. Then he can use those segments on his other podcasts with his more effective cohosts.
