Masonic Coversational Lecturing
The language used by the speakers does not leave any option but for them to be from California. The term “my truth” is used often and grates against my ears as it implies that there is more than one true world. There are is an overarching proclamation about “what is freemasonry” and I can firmly state that actual studied scholars have wrestled with that topic since before the formations of Grand Lodges, yet here it is proclaimed many times over as a more than a couple things.
I can say that as a mid-western 80’s child in Masonry, I find myself struggling with the overtones and undertones of West Coast Baby Boomer mentality that is telling me that “they are right and if you are not inline them then you are wrong”.
I am 17 episodes in, and it has climaxed with directly stated factually incorrect information that is 100% untrue. All within an episode that speaks of the three virtues. I am now listening for the sole interest of preparing myself with undoing mistruths.
