Interview with Mike DuBois The Living Artist

    • Arts

In this episode of The Living Artist, Preston interviews New York based artist Mike DuBois. Mike's work is highly recognizable in the art and music world. He has turned his passion for music into creating art for and working with some of the best bands in the world, including The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath, The Rolling Stones, Robert Plant, Santana, Levon Helm, and many more. In 2009, Mike designed and illustrated the album art for the Grammy Award winning album Electric Dirt, by Levon Helm. He also owns and oversees HappyLife Production and DuBois Studios, where he handles, creates and ships artwork and merchandise all over the world. Mike sits down with Preston to discuss his highly successful art career and business. Some highlights include his system of breaking down his hectic schedule into manageable "time blocks", talking about the creative process, colorful stories from his days showcasing his art at music festivals, licensing his artwork to major companies and bands, working with basketball hall of famer and friend Bill Walton, bumping into "neighbor" David Bowie, running a successful art business, and much more. Enjoy!
