    Ravers in the Nave

    Ravers in the Nave

Church of England revs with a difference Daniel French and Jamie Franklin sit down to talk about the most interesting issues in church and state. This time:
    - Church of England's Christmas campaign 'Follow the Star' falls flat due to basic typos and theological errors. But what tone could the CofE strike to truly reach the culture?
    - Climate Change protestors bravely storm the quire of Chichester Cathedral and interrupt Radio 3 evensong. Is this genuine prophecy or self-important pomposity?
    - COP 28 kicks off with 400,000 delegates creating the biggest carbon footprint since the Industrial Revolution began and King Charles making some strange comments about the "indigenous worldview".
    - Canterbury Cathedral hosting rave in the nave with obscene lyrics by Eminem is untenable says Gavin Ashenden. His solution? Give the cathedrals back to the Roman Catholic Church!
    - And Douglas Murray is indirectly threatened with weird prediction of Islamic gangsters coming to get him.
That and much much more as ever!

Doing the Lord’s work

I found out about this podcast through an essay written by Rod Dreher. After listening to a couple of episodes, I was hooked. It’s quickly become one of my favorite podcasts, so much so that I happily support the pod on patreon. Allow me to share a little personal information — it’ll soon become clear how it relates to the podcast. I was raised Southern Baptist but lost faith at 20 and became an ardent and vocal atheist. It wasn’t until over a decade later that I could no longer deny the existence of objective evil. The corollary, once accepted, began a spiritual search for the Truth (and boy, I found Him). Long story short, the Lord showed me where I needed to be as I’d prayerfully requested. My wife and I were received into the Eastern Orthodox Church in 2018. We’ve since been blessed with two children, I serve on the parish council, and teach Sunday school. One of the major themes running through this podcast is that in order to be an effective fisher of men, the Church needs to preach Christ and Him crucified. All too often this message gets watered down and repackaged to appeal to worldly people who’ve been told their whole lives that they’re perfect just the way they are. Yes, Christ loves you just the way you are, but He loves you so much that He’s not content to leave you that way. If I never encountered a Church that made hard demands on me to change and grow, if the only message I ever received from the Church was a virtual carbon-copy of the message spit out by every major media outlet, government, university, etc., then I’d never be an active member of the Church today. And without Her guidance I shudder to think of what spiritual path I would have carved out for myself. (No doubt it would have been a heretical one!) You’re not going to bring the lost sheep back into the fold by repeating the same canned bromides that the World vomits out 24/7. That’s not what you’ll find with this podcast. The “Revs” dutifully speak the Truth in Love, and present the “hard” truths to a world who’s thirsty for it. You’re doing the Lord’s work, gentlemen. Thank you for all you do. Glory to God!

Interesting and relevant with a sprinkling of fun

I always look forward to sitting down with a cup of coffee and listening to this Christian and Bible based podcast.
Jamie, Tom and Daniel talk about current topics that impact all of us and sometimes they have different points of view, which leads to interesting and thought provoking discussions.
I love their banter and sense of humour, which is much needed, as some of the things going on in the world is very dark and dare I say evil.
God bless you for not being ashamed of the gospel.

Thoughtful, Faithful, Insightful

I started listening to this podcast about a year or more ago, and finally decided to become a patron. I'm not even Anglican, but I found these three vicars's seriousness and earnestness about their faith, as well as the refreshing, even entertaining, nature of many of their shows, worth my time. And I fully support their evangelistic commitment.
