#110 - Is Artificial Intelligence Going to Take Our Jobs‪?‬ TURN it up!

    • Society & Culture

“It is going to be interesting to see where we find fulfillment and purpose because that’s so much often the case with the job you have… I’d be curious to see how using our creative processes can push the creative boundaries of what the human experience is and can be, because we no longer have these shackles on us… if we have more time to endeavor and explore down these paths, that allows for some incredible excitement too,” - Micheal Cathrea
Micheal Cathrea and Dan MacDonald as the leaders of the week. Micheal Cathrea is the co-founder and president of Resonate Music School and Studio as well as the co-founder of the Resonate Music Foundation. Resonate has received multiple awards including the publicly voted top-choice award 5 years in a row, with Micheal being named to Edmonton’s top 20 under 30 as well as being one of 20 recipients of the Business in Edmonton Leader’s award in 2018. Mike is also the Alberta representative for the breakthrough graded curriculum for popular music known as Rock School. Micheal has been invited to be a speaker at the National Association of Music Merchants Convention which is also held in Anaheim, California, and sees over 130,000 attendees. Dan MacDonald was born and raised in Edmonton and has co-founded and operated businesses in multiple industries. Prior to Verum Law, Dan worked as an associate in the Real Estate and Corporate Commercial Department at downtown firms.

The Universal Radio Network’s very own Qashus had the opportunity to sit down with both Mike and Dan to discuss the concept of quiet quitting, artificial intelligence, and much more in this episode.
At the beginning of the interview, Mike and Dan give their thoughts and opinions on the concept of quiet quitting (10:46), productivity, the idea of a 4 day work week (13:32), autonomy in the workplace (17:42), the different paces at which every person works at (19:52), why ideas from every individual should be heard regardless of background or experience (26:33), and the different forms of leadership within an organizational structure (33:05). Next Mike, Dan, and Qashus discuss the emergence of A.I (38:51), the concern around the accelerated progression of A.I and how it can co-exist among humans (42:16), the potential of A.G.I in the future (47:36), and the concept of jobs and what the purpose of it is (55:09). Near the end of their discussion, Mike and Dan share what they’re both personally working on (59:45), and the progression of their businesses since their last conversation (1:04:04).
