Shamika was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, and is the oldest of four children. Attending math and engineering camps for fun in junior high and high school, Shamika was excited about learning and eager to help save the world. After graduating from Stanford University, she served a year with AmeriCorps through Reading Partners in Queens and decided to stay in New York City. She went on to study technology and ethics at Union Theological Seminary in the city of New York and is thrilled to be serving others as a Tech Chaplain. She currently attends CU Boulder's iSchool studying technology, ethics, and social justice issues.
