A blog and podcast helping believers consider and understand the world we live in.

    Quit Listening to the Noise

    Quit Listening to the Noise

JB and Casie Shreve sit down to discuss the legitimate dangers of listening to the wrong sources, frequencies, and values in this day and age. In a time when social media and the world around us encourages us to argue, be outraged, and push our own perspectives more assertively than the perspective of our neighbors, it is worth asking, "Is this how believers should behave?" Many of us are being seduced by the frequency in the earth today that provokes us to anger, argument, and other positions that are not Christ-like. In that process, we are forgetting the values and principles of walking in the peace of the Kingdom of God. This is a dangerous way to live and makes us highly susceptible to deception. Perhaps you have seen friends and families caught up in these deceptions. Perhaps you have been caught up yourself. Were we called to argue, prove a point, or lay down our lives and love our brothers and sisters in Christ?

    What Is Spiritual Strength?

    What Is Spiritual Strength?

What is spiritual strength? Over the course of the last few podcast devotionals, JB and Casie Shreve have discussed the idea of building spiritual strength. What exactly is spiritual strength though? That is the question we discuss in today's podcast devotional. Strength is not about freedom from hardship, bad times, or even failure. Strength is about the ability to access a Source beyond ourselves in the midst of the hard times of life.

Mark of the Beast - And the Vaccine

Mark of the Beast - And the Vaccine

In this podcast episode, JB Shreve looks at the idea among some Christians that the coronavirus vaccine could be the mark of the beast mentioned in Revelation. I deliberately seek to avoid a debate in this podcast and my hope is to approach the topic more from a considerate position of questions and Biblical searching.

    Thinking Strong

    Thinking Strong

In this podcast devotional, JB and Casie Shreve continue to look at how to build internal strength by thinking strong.  We start in Joshua 1 where the new leader of Israel is encouraged "be strong" AT LEAST THREE TIMES in the course of three verses. The implication is clear, he was not feeling very strong at the moment and God was exhorting him to the right posture. The key to that posture was where Joshua focused his mind.

    Building on the Rock

    Building on the Rock

In the Monday Morning Devotional this week we looked at the reality of the wise and foolish builders. The foolish builder is the guy who builds on the foundation of sand. It is a foundation of easier decisions, comfort, and an easy fit for the world we live in today. But what about the wise builder? What does it mean to build on the rock? In today’s podcast devotional JB and Casie Shreve consider that question.

    All the False Gods

    All the False Gods

In the book of Exodus, Moses confronted not only Pharaoh but a wide array of false gods represented that the Egyptians worshipped. Each plague was targeted against a unique Egyptian god as the one true God flexed His mighty arm to devastate an empire, deliver His people, and fulfill His will. Imagine what it must have felt like to be among the children of God during that dramatic sequence of events! In this podcast devotional, JB Shreve looks at that wide array of false gods that compete for our loyalty in the modern era. This is not simply a political age of outrage and social justice. It is an era where a battle between the one true God and an array of false gods is unfolding. In this unfolding drama, people of faith should recognize what is taking shape and not be seduced into the wrong battles or sources of strength.
