energy/connections shifting
changes in milk supply

From Doing to Being: Finding Harmony in Parenthood and Life
In the last couple of years there have been lots of spaces and people emphasizing the 'being' before 'doing'. But what does this actually mean? How does it relate to parenthood or life with a newborn?
Jen and I have a casual convo about this topic inspired from her own personal life navigations. We touch on the doing/being balance both in parenthood and in life in general, give some examples and laugh about the paradox of 'doing' something to get to the 'being'.
As always thank you for BEING an amazing pod listener... enjoy this fun convo. 💬 🍵
Some of the topics we explore in this episode include:
doing all the things but nothing is working
the dance of doing and being and how these are woven together
releasing the outcome and how when you ground in 'being' it is easier to release the outcome in your 'doing'
intention behind what you are doing - tuning into what is in alignment for YOU in the moment
what exactly is doing and being - how do you define it
parenting advice and when do we act from the noise of advice vs. our inner guidance
reaction vs. response and how this relates to doing vs. being
relating the 'doing' and 'being' to labor and how life phases are like birth cycles
"who do I want to be and what's my intention in doing this"
the act of self-care as doing

Kathrine Zenkina's podcast episode that had the quote we mentioned + is a great follow-up episode to this on when to take action and doing/being balance -- her quote "I always laugh at that question whenever someone asks me what they need to do to be. If there is a doing that leads to a being when they have to be a being... so there is no doing to the being, it's just the being."
our episode on parent rest and sleep (we talk about taking the edgy actions to BE a person that prioritizes self care)
our episode about unsolicited advice (also can lead to 'doing' first)

Fed With Love 🍼 ❤️🤱
As parents (especially new ones) we are always trying to do what is best for our kiddos. Many of us have heard the term "breast is best" and know the many benefits of breastmilk.
However, what isn't promoted as much is the beauty and balance of the use of formula, donor milk or some other supplemental option as a tool that that can be incredibly beneficial. Jen and I want to start a new saying that came out of this conversation: "Fed with love."
We talk about how intention and love in whatever way you feed you kiddo is really what is best for everyone.
Some of the topics we explore in this episode include:
finding balance with supplemental milk and formula
how to balance modern society parenting with ancient/cultural ways
the sayings "Brest is Best" vs "Fed is Best"
Resources:

Episode on Elimination Communication
study of water molecules and words/intentions
