Your Pain Matters
Does life hurt?
I saw this post from a Daniell Koepke that I believe someone needs to hear this afternoon. She said, “Your trauma is valid. Even if other people have experienced “worse”. Even if someone else who went through the same experience doesn’t feel debilitated by it. Even if it ‘could have been avoided’. Even if it happened a long time ago. Even if no one knows. Your trauma is real and valid, and you deserve a space to talk about it. It isn’t desperate or pathetic or attention-seeking. It’s self-care. It’s inconceivably brave. And regardless of the magnitude of your struggle, you’re allowed to take care of yourself by processing and unloading some of the pain you carry. Your pain matters. Your experience matters. And your healing matters. Nothing and no one can take that away.”
Remember, if life hurts, we pray with you and for you at KCBI.org, click the Prayer Center, and let’s pray together
A Valuable Lesson
I have a story for you.
A college professor walks in his classroom started off his lecture by holding up a $100.00 bill. In the room of 200 students, he asked, “Who would like this $100 bill?” Hands flew up in the air. He said, “I am going to give this $100 to one of you but first, let me do this.”
He proceeded to crumple up the $100 dollar bill. He then asked, “Who still wants it…?” Still the hands were up in the air. He replied, “What if I do this?” And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. “Now, who still wants it?” Still the hands went into the air.
The professor responds, “No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $100. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We may feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.”
Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who know you and love you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHOSE WE ARE. We belong to the King of Kings and he calls you priceless.
Who Can Add To Christmas?
"Who can add to Christmas? The perfect motive is that God so loved the world. The perfect gift is that He gave His only Son. The only requirement is to believe in Him. And the reward of faith? Is that you shall have everlasting life." - Corrie ten Boom
Merry Christmas from your friends here at 90.9 KCBI!
In God's Timing
My name is Sonny Delfyette and I am the new Afternoon Show host here at KCBI!
So a little something about me, I have been trying to join the KCBI family now for 9 YEARS! When I first applied 9 years ago, God said it wasn't the right timing. Then I tried applying the next year, God still said, "not yet." But here I am 9 years later and I can't wait to get to hang out with you each day in the Afternoons!
My encouragement to you is this: If you've had a prayer that you've let go for one reason or another, don't stop. Keep praying, keep believing. God hears you and will answer perfectly. In HIS time, not yours.
God is seriously the best insurance policy out there. There's not a single incident that God can't and won't cover.
Come As You Are
This past weekend, I was with some friends of mine who have 3 small children under the age of 3. I knew that the middle one, who is almost 2, wasn't feeling well. Sweet little boy walks up to his dad with his arms stretched out and in the matter of what seemed like a half a second, he did this combination of a sneeze, cough, and got sick down the front of his shirt followed by telling his dad that he needed a hug.
Without hesitation the dad gave his boy a big hug and I'll be honest, I was kind of shocked. This little boy was a mess! Later I asked him why he did and this was his answer: "I embraced him because I want him to remember when he's older that no matter how messy he is, he's got a father in heaven with his arms wide open ready to hold him exactly how he is."
The same goes for you.
