Manisha Shah, a 24-year-old Modern Mithila Artist and Fine Art student (MFA) at Tribhuvan University, is a passionate individual whose artistic journey began in childhood in Terai. Although her parents were skeptical of her artistic pursuits, Manisha pursued her passion, earning recognition and exploring diverse themes, focusing on societal issues through her paintings. Determined to promote Mithila painting, Manisha aspires for artists to receive the same respect as professionals in other fields. Her unique approach, addressing topics like women's violence and social issues, has garnered appreciation. Grateful for the support of senior artists, college teachers, and friends, Manisha expresses her gratitude while eagerly awaiting the day when artists receive the recognition they deserve.

In this podcast series, Manisha delves into a recurring theme centered around the societal challenges encountered by young girls, particularly those hailing from the Terai region of Nepal. These individuals confront a multitude of obstacles as they strive to pursue their aspirations and chosen careers. Manisha candidly recounts her own journey, highlighting the familial hurdles she faced and the encouragement she received in her quest to become an independent woman challenging societal norms and familial expectations. Notably, she emphasizes that her primary support comes from the artistic community rather than her own community within the Terai region.
