Alexis Downie, host of the second annual Anaheim Ducks Women in Sports Night panel, was joined on stage by Annie Camins (PWHL – VP), Denise White (EAG Sports Management – CEO), Mackenzie Dern (UFC fighter and Orange County local) and Helene Elliott (Hockey Hall of Fame Journalist). The panel discuss their career in sports, the sacrifice and leadership behind the scenes to make things happen, and what motivated them to become trailblazers in sports for other females. Later, the panel answer questions from guests in attendance of the event.

Sports mental health
Loved episode 5 with Laura Greeley! I’m a therapist and a parent of an athlete, and I especially loved hearing the ways Laura’s own life influenced her work in sports mental health. I also loved hearing about her approach to building trust and showing a bit of her value with the players as she starts what will likely be an incredibly impactful long term relationship with this team and players. Kent, thank you also for disclosing so casually and helpfully that you’ve been to therapy and that you gained from it. Your playful “do you treat broadcasters” at the end was cute but was another moment where you modeled that it’s healthy and good to look for mental health support.
