Each person experiences loneliness and isolation, those of us who live with intense suffering, such as with chronic illness, struggle in a unique way. I aim to strengthen those who are living with chronic illnesses by reading from various documents (encyclicals, book, letters etc) and applying their words to our situation.
My goal is to promote the Truth as is taught in the Catholic Church to help us grow into the men and women God created us to be. I wish to remind each person who they are: Child of God the Father, Beloved of Christ, and Temple of the Holy Spirit. With this as the centre of our identity we are freed to become our authentic selves and live well in every situation.
Communion (the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level) with the Church Militant (those of us still on Earth) is vital to strengthen us in our lives. My prayer is that this podcast may provide a service to those who may feel they are outside the reach of the Church by brining the words and teachings to you.

This episode is on Saint Josemaria Escriva who lived from 1902 to 1975. Saint Josemaria was declared declared a Saint on October 6, 2002 by Pope Saint John Paul II and his feat day is June 26th. He is the patron of Opus Dei and diabetics.

Venerable Matthew Talbot, Patron of Alcoholics and Addicts
This episode is on Venerable Matthew Talbot who lived from 1856 to 1925. Matthew was declared venerable on October 3, 1975 and his feat day is June 19th. He is the patron of alcoholics and addicts. When a person is declared venerable in the Catholic Church it means that their life has demonstrated to have attained a certain level of sanctity and is worthy of imitation. Their cause may continue on to become a blessed or saint.

Saint Bernadine, Patron of Respiratory Illnesses
This episode is on Saint Bernardine of Siena who lived from 1380 to 1444. Saint Bernardino was canonized on May 24, 1450 by Pope Nicolas V and has the feast day of May 20th. He is the patron advertising, communications, compulsive gambling, respiratory problems, as well as any problems involving the chest area.

St. Damien, Patron of Lepers and Outcasts
This episode is on Saint Damien Joseph de Veuster who lived from 1840 to 1889. Saint Damien was canonized on October 11, 2009 by Pope Benedict XVI and has the feast day of May 10th. He is the patron of people with leprosy and outcasts.
