Lent Ep 6: Praying With Grief

Lent Ep 6: Praying With Grief

There's a temptation to rush to the "after" but this week we sit with the sadness this year has brought to us. God can handle all of us, especially our rage, disappointment, and grief.

We recorded this episode two weeks prior to the shooting in Atlanta yet it seems to fit. We pray for all those grieving these days. We pray you feel God close.

Lent Ep 3: Praying with Being v. Doing

Lent Ep 3: Praying with Being v. Doing

Damian and Br. Matt talk about the temptation of rushing into action rather than simply being. This Sunday's Gospel is the Transfiguration when Jesus' friends react in a similar way- rushing to "do."

Damian leads our prayer and teaches us the Five Finger Prayer popularized by Pope Francis.

Great for the whole family!

My six-year-old nephew and I listened to the Ash Wednesday episode while eating our grilled cheese and tomato soup! It was a great way to talk about why Lent is really important for connecting us to each other and to God. The contemplation at the end was also great opportunity for us to pray together.

Hard feelings

I just finished episode 3. (I’m playing catch up.) But I need to tell you that it was a really good thing to hear Damien and Br Matt talk about taking hard stuff to God. Having lost my mom early this year, I’ve felt wrong about being upset/hurt at Him that she’s gone and everyone in my life seems to have that ‘good posture.’ It was good to hear that reminder that I’m not the only one who feels sad/mad and that God can handle my honesty while I work through these feelings.

I heart yoga too ,

Rejoice

So great for this advent- thank you both. Matt since your IG post on micro-Joys those have become a thing in my life. So valuable on hard days.
