    Persevere Under Trials

    Persevere Under Trials

    Today’s Scripture:

    James 1:12 NIV‬

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

To persevere means you must stand the test. You must endure; you must give it all you've got. When it gets hard, you must stand. When it is unbearable, you must stand. Persevere.

Really, perseverance means we must stand firm and be patient. Stay in it. You cannot run from trials. If you run from the trials, then you are running from the blessings and from the growth. If you stand in the time of persecution and trials, you will receive a reward, and that reward is the crown of life that the Lord promised.

Yes, it gets hard to stand when you are dealing with trials. We make it seem like we can just quote scriptures over our pain, and it will all go away. No. There's an endurance component. You must endure, persevere, and fight because there's no crown without a cross.

Jesus did this for us and set an example for us to persevere. The Bible says, ‭” fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” (Hebrews 12:2-3, NIV‬).

Jesus endured the cross. It was something that wasn’t easy, but he endured. Why did he persevere and endure? For the joy that was ahead of him. He did it because there was a crown waiting for him. There was a promotion waiting for him. He was elevated to sit at the right hand of the throne of God. That's the place of authority and power!

If we endure, if we persevere in the midst of our trials, we will receive the crown. God promises to bless us; he never goes back on his word. He will bless us. You might be frustrated with what you are experiencing right now; no one understands, and you want to give up because life is hard. But I encourage you to hold on, to preserve, and to stand. Having done all, stand in God. He is your help and your deliverer; you will never be defeated.

The writer of Hebrews points us to Jesus. He endured, and we must remind ourselves of this daily so that we will not grow weary and lose heart. Don't lose heart, family. Be encouraged by what Christ did for us and endure like he did. You will reap if you do not faint if you don't quit if you don't give up. You will make it if you persevere. Help is at your disposal in the word of God.

    God Knew You

    God Knew You

    Today’s Scripture:

    ‭Jeremiah 1:5 NIV‬

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

This is one of my favorite Bible verses in the entire Bible. It speaks to me in so many ways. It is one of those scriptures that was written just for me. And guess what? You can say the same thing; it was written just for you. Before I formed you, this is God speaking to Jeremiah; before, it speaks of predestination. So, it was always in God's plans before your arrival on earth. God Knew you.

The word knew is a Hebrew word that means to make known, fully known, to be well known; it also means to have sexual relations, like when a husband and wife come together in intimacy. God is saying here, I know you like that. You are one with me, and I am one with you. You are known. If God knows you, then stop saying you can't be used by God because of your divorce, your abortion, your prison time served, or because you don't have a degree or education. God knew you. He knew you would have an abortion, he knew you would get divorced, he knew you would go jail for stealing, but guess what? He still wants you.

God Knew what was in Moses; he knew what was in David; he knew David would commit adultery, but yet he called David a man after his own heart. God cannot be boxed into our standards. The lies we tell ourselves and the things we listen to cause us not to live the life God wants us to. When he was creating you before you knew you, he knew that you were going to do that thing that you are tripping over right now, but he says, I knew you. I still delight in you. I want to use you.

God gave you what you needed before he asked you for it. Because he knew you. You have the stuff. But there's a soundtrack, your life soundtrack, which is the negative stuff that the enemy speaks into your hearing. The lies he tells you that you are not good enough. You cannot be used by God. That’s a lie. That's how Jeremiah, David, Moses, myself, and even you felt. But God knew you. You have what you need, and it's hidden inside of you. It's called greatness, and that's the God inside of you. He's the Greatness inside of you.

You are known by God. God Knew you. Stop being the victim, you are the victor. Stop being the one who can't but the one who has everything he needs to become great. God Knew you. You are known by God. Family, you are known, and you are loved. Trust God that no matter what you do or experience in your life. It doesn't surprise him. He knew you before you knew yourself, and he called you and made you a prophet. You are known by God. Stop beating up yourself, lean into your calling, and give it all you've got. Someone is waiting for you to show up so they can come up.

    The Satisfied Soul

    The Satisfied Soul

    Today’s Scripture:

    ‭Psalm 107:9 KJV‬

For he satisfieth the longing soul, And filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

God loves us so much that he sacrificed his life for us through his Son, Jesus Christ. After that, he resurrected and gave us the power to live in this life, a life that is fulfilled and satisfied in him. Then why are so many people unhappy and unsatisfied?

Is it because of the lack of money, popularity, fame, or something else? No, yesterday we talked about people who had all these things, but we're unsatisfied. Then it is because we do not have a relationship with God, who is the creator of us and the one who gave us our souls by breathing into us and making us living souls.

David says in our text, "For he satisfieth the longing soul, And filleth the hungry soul with goodness." The longing soup here means a weary, tired soul that has been trying to find satisfaction and wanting to be satisfied but can only find it in God.

He also said he filleth the hungry soul with goodness. This is amazing, because we are talking about being fulfilled and satisfied. David points us to the solution-God. He satisfies he fulfills. No man, not money, not status, not fame, God. The Satisfied Soul is filled when God comes into the picture. Otherwise, it remains thirsty.

The thing about thirst is that it makes you desperate. It makes you tired, weary, and frustrated. He says my longing soul. There's something that happens when we are thirsty we must drink water. It satisfies our thirst. Here's what satisfies the soul when it is thirsty: God. When your soul is satisfied, you are free. The satisfied soul is weightless and free.

Family, the satisfied soul remains in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The soul is bound, tied up, and unfree without this relationship. God has called us to live a satisfied life. A free life, and a life of joy and peace, which can only be found in Christ. Let's begin to trust and depend on God to satisfy our souls and not external things. Nothing else can do it but him. He will satisfy you with good things, with long life, and with good health. God satisfies the Soul.

    The Unsatisfied Soul

    The Unsatisfied Soul

    Today’s Scripture:

    ‭‭Psalm 63:1 KJV‬

    O God, thou art My God; early will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee In a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

We are all looking for satisfaction. We want to be satisfied. Whether on our jobs or in ministry, in business, or in our communities, we long to be satisfied and be at rest. Our society is restless. People are living unsatisfied lives, chasing things, chasing after money, chasing after fame, chasing after notoriety, chasing after popularity, and chasing after a celebrity lifestyle, but yet they are Unsatisfied.

We have found that the soul is not satisfied outside of God. When people chase these things, they are really trying to satisfy the soul. But the soul cannot be satisfied with things like money, popularity, or fame. The soul is only satisfied one way: through a relationship with God. Many would say that they are happy, but are they satisfied? Deep down, there's a longing for something more. For example, Jim Carey says, "I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer."

Madonna is also well-known worldwide and has been very successful, but she has also said that she is unfulfilled and dissatisfied in her life. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has also confessed to being unhappy and lonely. I mean, the list goes on and on. What's the answer, then, if money is not it? We all believe Money is the solution to our problems, so we are not happy and satisfied.

But, I believe we need to look deeper. The soul cannot be satisfied by money or popularity. It is not possible. The soul is not meant to be satisfied outside of God. Why? Because at creation, the Bible tells us that ‭"the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7 KJV‬

Now, this means that man yearns for God because God is in man; that's his soul. It's God's breath. We cannot satisfy the soul outside of God. David knew this, he was king, but he had a thirst. He was not satisfied. He said my soul thirst for thee. David shows us that it's only in God we can be satisfied. He worshiped God and cried out to him. Are you Unsatisfied today, or are you looking for the wrong things to satisfy you?

I want you to know that you will only be satisfied when you have the right relationship with God. There's no other way. Only God can satisfy the unsatisfied soul. The Bible says, ‭"For he satisfieth the longing soul, And filleth the hungry soul with goodness" (Psalm 107:9, KJV)‬. It is a shame that we are trying to look outside God for satisfaction in our lives. Only the creator can do that. He made us in his image and likeness, we have a part of him in us. We can only be satisfied by God. Family, don't become distracted by what's happening around you with everyone chasing Money. Yeah, it's good and answers a lot of things, but it doesn't satisfy the deep issues of the soul.

Only God and a relationship with him through Jesus Christ can do this for us.

How do you get into a relationship with God? You confess him as Lord and Savior of your life, according to Romans 10:9, and then you live according to the word of God in the Bible. You will begin to see that your life becomes more fulfilled and satisfied as the days go by. Remain in God and trust him to satisfy your soul.

    Favored With God

    Favored With God

    Today’s Scripture:

    ‭Luke 1:30-31 NIV‬

But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. [31] You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.

When you find favor with God, it results in two things: you conceive, and you give birth. God cannot favor you and not experience conception or new birth. It's not possible.

When God's favor is upon your life, it will bring about the conception of new ideas, businesses, developments, creativity, and perspectives. Favor with God cannot leave you dormant and dismal; it always results in conception.

Joseph was favored, and he prospered. That's conception. Without God's favor, he would not have conceived these dreams, risen to the top in Egypt, and run Egypt for Pharaoh. Favor with God also produces new births; after the concept, there must be new births.

The Bible said that Mary found favor in the sight of the Lord. Then it said she would conceive and give birth. That's the order of God's favor. You will birth new ideas, concepts, companies, churches, marriages, and children. Yes, favor results in conceiving and giving birth.

If you want to know if a person has God's favor, look at what they are conceiving and birthing. For example, Jesus. God's favor was upon him, and therefore, he was empowered to conceive by healing the sick and casting out devils. In so doing, he gave birth to a new movement that would eventually transcend the whole world.

Without God's favor upon him, he would not have given birth to this movement that we are now a part of as believers. The Bible says that the child Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man. He was favored, and it showed in his life by the things he conceived and gave birth to.

What are some of the things that God has placed on the inside of you? Things and ideas that you need to begin to develop into conceptions, and then from there give birth to? His favor is for you and with you. There's no way you can fail. He said to Mary in this same text no word from God will ever fail. That means with God, all things are possible. You will conceive, and you will give birth.

    The Stone of Mercy

    The Stone of Mercy

    Today’s Scripture:

    ‭John 8:3-7 NIV‬

The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

The Bible says that God delights in showing mercy. He is eager to show mercy. Jesus is the stone that the builders rejected. He's the rock on which we stand. He is the pillar and ground of the truth. He is a stone that cannot be shaken. In our text, a woman was caught in the act of adultery; according to the law of Moses, that woman should be stoned. That means they would take her out in public and everyone would stone her to death. This dates back to ancient Jewish society.

According to the Torah, adultery was considered a severe offense. The law prescribed the death penalty for both the man and the woman involved (Leviticus 20:10, Deuteronomy 22:22-24). It also required a witness of the crime, which in this case is adultery. There's a cultural factor here as well. Women had limited legal and social rights compared to men within this culture. Adultery laws, therefore, often put women in a particularly vulnerable position, which reflects the double standard of that time.

In our text, The Pharisees and scribes who brought the woman to Jesus were religious leaders known for their strict adherence to the Law of Moses. Even if it was concerning others and not themselves. You know those people, everything you do is wrong, but when they do it, it's not so bad. They were hypocritical; they knew the law but did not follow it. Jesus, now, was the law, and he was teaching truths, and they were offended and wanted to trap him because he was exposing their hypocrisy.

Jesus emphasizes mercy over judgment, which is a shift or a new direction from the law of Moses. They wanted to stone this woman and kill her. Jesus, who is the stone and foundation of our salvation, says no. He used mercy instead of judgment. He's the mercy stone. He didn't desire to stone her with physical stones, but he wanted to restore her with the stone of Mercy. Jesus is the mercy stone.

Family, you can trust in Jesus, the rock of our salvation, the stone the builders rejected, he is our mercy stone. He will show mercy instead of judgement, peace instead of war, grace Instead of punishment. Jesus, the mercy stone is on your side.
