Customer Reviews
Bravo, Matt and the podcast crew!
I’m the proud father of one of the captains of the 1990 Mounties, and have been fully absorbed by your brilliant effort, Matt. Truly engaging story telling, combined with very professional production support = a masterful portrayal of an epic event.
Our family re-energized a dormant Mountie football fan club, sponsored (and produced) the annual football dinner for the team, and I personally gathered, edited and professionally bound the football yearbook given as a memento to everyone involved in that team.
We threw the end-of-season party for the players, and co-hosted a celebratory reception for the coaches, team, and families.
In other words, we were ‘invested’ in the 1990 Mounties, and reveled in their victories, and suffered in their soul-crushing loss.
I will share with you the fact that our son, a highly successful businessman and devoted sports fan, has NEVER gone back to Woodman Field, and quiets down whenever that game is mentioned. He’s aware of ‘Lights Out’ and has listened to it, but won’t talk about it.
So, thank you for your professionalism. It has touched so many of us quite deeply.
Not just for sports fans
This is not just for sports fans - it’s a very interesting story about how one event changed a lot of lives in a town in New Jersey. Matt does a terrific job of capturing the flavor of Montclair, NJ, interesting backstories on the players of the team, and the pain of loosing a big game.
