Colorado Avalanche Captain Gabriel Landeskog and GM Chris MacFarland met the media Thursday morning to discuss a number of things involving the team, with getting the biggest concern out of the way right off the bat. Gabe Landeskog is not retiring.

His plan is to play next year. Exactly when still remains a mystery however. What also is a mystery is what the Avalanche will do with Val Nichushkin. Right now there doesn't seem like there is much they can do, with MacFarland going as far as to say it is "plausible" that he returns to the team when his suspension is over.

It was announced that Colorado Avalanche GM Chris MacFarland will meet the media for the first time since the Avs season ended. Which is customary for front office members. However, it was also announced that Gabriel Landeskog will also take part in the press conference. Is that a cause for concern?

We are a few days removed from the Colorado Avalanche season coming to an end by the hands of the Dallas Stars. Have we come to terms with that yet, or do we feel like this years Avs team went as far as expected? Maybe the bigger question is, was this season a failure? For a team that has championship aspirations every year, you could say it was.

So what does the offseason bring for the Avs? That is the million dollar question. It will no doubt be one of the more interesting ones for the team. And in the center of it all will be the Val Nichushkin situation.

And what about the roster as a whole? We use the Cap Friends Roster Builder to construct an Avs roster with only currently signed players and their lone RFA, Casey Mittelstadt. What do we get? A lot of young guns needing to take the next step. Can it work??
