Wisconsin Badgers football QB Graham Mertz and the passing attack is getting better. I believe!

Wisconsin Badgers football QB Graham Mertz and the passing attack is getting better. I believe!

Wisconsin Badgers football fall practice updates as the offense and QB Graham Mertz seem to be clicking at a little higher level. Great tidbits on the young WRs like Skyler Bell, Markus Allen, Dean Engram and of course Chimere Dike. It does sound like new offensive coordinator Bobby Engram is making some significant changes to what the offense has been over the last several seasons.
Do I believe it ? I think there is something there and I'm excited to see what it looks like.
I also talk about the salty defensive line and why its going to be such a good unit this year. Rodas Johnson has been flashing in practice and looks like a solid bet to join Keanu Benton and Isaiah Mullens as the starters with great depth behind them. It may not be the strongest pass rushing group, but don't expect many teams to run the ball successfully against the Badgers this year.

Wisconsin Badgers Basketball continues its French trip. Markus Ilver and Connor Essegian bust out.

Wisconsin Badgers Basketball continues its French trip. Markus Ilver and Connor Essegian bust out.

Wisconsin Badgers basketball is still in action in France and we talk about their 3-0 start. We begin with some hot takes on the team's shooting and why Chucky Hepburn, Stephen Crowl, Jordan Davis and Markus Ilver are all potentially above average three point shooters. We talk about true freshman Connor Essegian and if he will be good enough defensively in year one to take the court and let his considerable offensive skills show out.
Next we discuss the potential issues at the back up center spot and if Justin is worried about that spot. We spend some time talking about Chucky Hepburn and if he can be the Badgers go- to scorer this year against longer defenders.

Finally on Locked On Badgers we talk about last year's shooting woes and if this year's team should be a better shooting squad.

Wisconsin Badgers football recruiting, Will McDonald the next great PWO? Ceiling for UW recruiting?

Wisconsin Badgers football recruiting, Will McDonald the next great PWO? Ceiling for UW recruiting?

Will McDonald commits to the Badgers football program, we talk about his game and if he is the next great Badgers PWO commit. We discuss Paul Chryst and the Badgers recruiting staff and what their ceiling might be.

With McDonald, John loves his frame and his athletic ability and thinks he has some positional versatility to his game. We talk about if any other program recruit PWOs as well as Wisconsin and why other schools haven't been able to replicate that level of success. We also talk about how long it should take an NFL coach like Bobby Engram to get going on the college recruiting trail and why his NFL pedigree matters to recruits.
Finally we talk about where the Badgers realistically should be in the team recruiting rankings.

Basketball wins opening game of trip, Markus Illver might be a surprise | Wisconsin Badgers Podcast

Basketball wins opening game of trip, Markus Illver might be a surprise | Wisconsin Badgers Podcast

Big basketball news as the Badgers start their French trip with a win. We talk about the importance of the trip and what it means for players like Chucky Hepburn, Stephen Crowl and Tyler Wahl. We talk culture and chemistry and why this trip is really about those two major items and not about winning games.
Next we take a look through the box score and highlight the good and bad from the opening match. Why the Badgers shooting 44% from deep is SUCH a big deal. Isaac Lindsey, one of my sleepers for this season, hit a couple three's in a very good sign. We also saw Markus Illver, an athletic wing with some shooting ability bang three triples -- he's a player the Badgers desperately need to break out offensively this season.
Finally we discuss the three player that will need to make the most of this trip, the two transfers Max Klesmit and Kamari McGee and the aforementioned Markus Illver. We talk about the the new roles both Klesmit and McGee will need to play this season.

Football camp news, Graham Mertz looks good, Skyler Bell stock up | Wisconsin Badgers Podcast

Football camp news, Graham Mertz looks good, Skyler Bell stock up | Wisconsin Badgers Podcast

News out of fall camp as the offensive line depth chart battles continue, who will win the RT spot, Logan Brown or Riley Mahlman. Graham Mertz has a new favorite target potentially in Skyler Bell who has been generating a ton of buzz this fall. It sounds like Chez Mellusi and Isaac Gurrendo are healthy and rolling; we talk about what the three-headed monster at RB could look like this season.

I talk about the depth charts for defense and offense, and react to the news that Jake Chaney is running with the number one's at ILB, we discuss the cornerback depth chart and if its a bad sign that the younger cornerbacks haven't taken a big jump yet.

Basketball recruiting Jack Janicki, the Wisconsin Badgers recruiting ceiling and thoughts on Connor Essegian

Basketball recruiting Jack Janicki, the Wisconsin Badgers recruiting ceiling and thoughts on Connor Essegian

Wisconsin Badgers basketball recruiting talk, we discuss the recent addition of Jack Janicki the PWO from Minnesota. Jason loves his ability to shoot the ball. We also discuss the recruiting ceiling for the Badgers and Jason's thoughts on last year's gem; Connor Essegian.
With Jack Janicki we discuss how much of a steal the PWO from Minnesota is and why with his frame, shooting range and sneaky ability to score at different levels -- there's a real chance he can become a contributor down the road. We talk about his prolific ability to score at the AAU level and why he might have been overlooked nationally. We also spend a minute talking about what he needs to work at when he gets to Wisconsin.
Next we discuss last year's recruiting class for the Badgers and SG Connor Essegian. Jason loves Connor's ability to score at multiple levels and talks about the way he dominated at times on the AAU circuit against elite players. Connor has more athletic ability than he gets credit for and has the upside to be a primary scorer on a really good team.
