Great podcast

I heard about this on the Trail Went Cold and found a very in depth investigation. I’m only on episode 5 but fascinating!

Interesting story, somewhat flawed presentation

This story is interesting, but as others have pointed out, the hosts don’t tell the story very directly. Part of this is because the search for the boys was launched before key details were known, so to tell the story chronologically with hindsight, means there will be some skipping ahead. But it doesn’t seem the hosts script at all. However, my biggest misgiving is that one of the hosts seems very self-congratulatory when these two are just using other people’s work to make a (buck) podcast. He comes across as full of himself. Also, the emphasis on boys as adventurers and explorers over and over again is sexist. I’m just going to buy the book they use as the basis for the podcast and read it instead.

Great Podcast - needs a couple fixes

I am hooked on the podcast and they fully deserve 5 stars. The research is impeccable. If you want a quick story, this isn’t the podcast for you.

Some fixes: it’s Patton Oswalt. Get his name right.
I’m a Philly guy. No local goes to Pats or Genos. And Tony Luke’s has really declined. All the locals know John’s Roast Pork is the place for cheesesteaks.
Ok. On the serious side. Season 3 starts to get repetitive and has long intros. I love listening to you guys but it’s getting to be a bit much.

Chris is awesome. I could listen to him talk all day.

If you want someone to tell you a story and wrap it up in 45 minutes, listen to one of the other 25 million true crime podcasts out there.
Again, it’s a great podcast. I hope it beeps going.

Finally, I’m a little surprised they haven’t bright up the Beaumont Children. Three sibling disappeared from a beach in Australia in 1966.
