Down the Hatch | Missing Pieces, Part 2

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) conclude their search for “Missing Pieces.” The second of a two-part series between seasons three and four, Josh and Mike run down the “Missing Pieces” webisodes, ancillary LOST content that aired in 2007 and 2008. In this podcast, Josh and Mike go through the final six webisodes and determine which ones are “going to Guam” and which ones should be “killed with fire arrows.” Plus, Mike investigates the LOST Magazine, and the duo look ahead toward season four!

    About Down the Hatch …

LOST: Down the Hatch is a full-tilt spoiler-filled rewatch of LOST. Every week, Josh and Mike break down an episode of LOST with the benefit of knowing the series’ full trajectory, using the following structure as a guide:

    • We Go “Fourth” – Josh and Mike begin each podcast with a deep-dive into the story both in front of and behind the camera, and they do so with the assistance of eight sound clips from each episode.

    • The Others – Josh and Mike answer questions sent their way by listeners through the official e-mail address: downthehatch@postshowrecaps.com

    • 23 Points – Each week, Josh and Mike hand out points for the best and worst characters of the episode in question, in a foolhardy attempt to determine the most and least valuable players in the LOST pantheon.

    • 4.2 Stars – Josh and Mike rank every episode of LOST, by rating them all on a scale from 0 – 4.2. Josh and Mike offer their individual scores, listeners’ scores will be averaged as a third data point, then the three points combine as the podcast’s official score on each episode.

Lost: Down the Hatch | Season 3 Finale: “Through the Looking Glass”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) had to go back, and now, here they are: “Through the Looking Glass,” the legendary season three finale of LOST.

In “Through the Looking Glass,” Jack Shephard puts it all on the line to save the survivors of Oceanic 815. The results are … complicated. It’s the end of the line for several characters, some more beloved than others, and the conclusion of the historic drama’s first act. It’s only fitting that Josh and Mike yammer on for over three hours about it all.

Lost: Down the Hatch | Season 3 Episode 20: “The Man Behind the Curtain”

Lost: Down the Hatch | Season 3 Episode 20: “The Man Behind the Curtain”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) take a look at “The Man Behind the Curtain.”

In “The Man Behind the Curtain,” John Locke rejoins the Others and pushes Benjamin Linus for some answers. Careful what you wish for. In the past, we learn how Ben became the man we know him as in the present, and the answers are very bleak indeed. It’s yet another all-time episode in what Josh and Mike believe is the best stretch of LOST. Hold onto your appendix!

Mike! Let Josh Speak!

OMG!! Mike, stop interrupting Josh! It’s rude, disrespectful and frustrating to listeners. Good grief, man. Just stop.

Great podcast.

I’ve listened to a few lost podcasts and this isn’t y far the best one IMO. Both Josh and Mike are funny and you can tell the are passionate about the show. Long episodes so they really get into the weeds with each episode. I like the added show notes with links to articles, interviews etc. So glad I found this podcast.
