Our protagonists, Cameron Banga and Jon Becker, are Apple Watch enthusiasts. After a year of watch ownership, both agree that there is a gap in the market for a very specific type of watch band. In this podcast, Cameron and Jon will discuss their experiences as they source different watch bands from a variety of manufacturers, in an attempt to create a product they can sell on the internet.
Episode 15: This Entire Episode Was Edited on an iPad
In this episode, Cameron decided to pay $20 for the full In App Purchase inside of Ferrite for iPad, so that he could edit the entire episode on iPad.
The results are a mixed bag. And we apologize for Cameron falling off the podcast for a thirty second interval or two. Also, our favorite part is at approximately the 45:20 mark.
Episode 14: Let's Talk About Our First Month of Sales
After a short hiatus, Jon and Cameron return to talk about how sales have gone during the first month of ToneBands availability.
Episode 13: Our First Week of Sales
ToneBands have been for sale officially, for 7 days and 16 hours. Jon and Cameron offer their hot takes on the first week of availability.
Episode 12: ToneBands are Available for Sale
There's no summary, no build up, no beating around the bush. ToneBands are available today at ToneBands.com. During this episode, Jon and Cameron discuss this historic event.
Episode 11: A Slight Delay, but Still On Course
We've taken a few weeks off while we waited for the band and worked out logistics. But we're close! Website and official sales discussed in this fantastic episode!
Our failed first shipment — This is not the success we had wanted with shipping.
Episode 10: A Test of the Emergency Broadcast System
In an abbreviated emergency episode of the podcast (due mostly to Cameron's inability to stay healthy), the guys discuss a couple potential issues that have arisen during the purchase of the first order of ToneBands. Will the order still be possible? Will the project bankrupt our protagonists? Find out in this emergency episode of the Making the Bands podcast.
The un-talked about part of tech
Really interesting hearing a discussion about the process of manufacturing from literally step 1. Fascinating process, and the hosts are great!
I'm a co-host, so I'm biased, BUT
Yes, I help create this show. So I am biased.
However, I listen to a lot of podcasts. Probably 8-12 hours of Apple related podcasts per week. That's a lot.
I made this show because I wanted to listen to it. There are many shows about Apple. But I can't think of any that tackle a unique topic like this. So I think it's worth a listen, and hope you enjoy it.
Looking forward to following along.
Like listening to two of your super smart and funny friends talk about tech pop culture and the supply side of manufacturing. Good for a giggle.
