This podcast is about finding ways to communicate with people completely different from yourself. We want to bridge the Political Divide with Political Theory and action reconciliation.
We welcome you to sit back, relax, and discuss these conversations wherever you are no matter what color state you live in, blue or red. We’re going to challenge each other to question what makes up the fabric of society and how we can respond to it.
If you have a comment question or rant, we'd love to hear it. Visit our website, BlueStateConversations.com, or email us at BlueStateConversations@gmail.com

Special Guest Episode: Soslan Newell Temanson
Soslan Newell was born in Russia and surrendered to an orphanage at birth. Soslan was adopted by a family from Oregon, and two hours later after leaving with his new parents, the orphanage was bombed by Georgia. After moving to America, Soslan experienced many challenges as he joined the Air force and later started a Hospice Ministry called Meet You At The Finish Line. Soslan credits his incredible life story and desire to fight for freedom to the influence and protection of God.

S3E6: How to Build a Government: Creating a Good Executive
Synopsis: What makes a good president? Is it the same as a good king? Does having a single powerful individual have any point? How to be a leader is one of the most debated and talked about subjects in philosophy and social science. It’s very easy to critique a leader, and very hard to make a correct decision in the face of uncertain results. Especially knowing that popular decisions may not be the right decisions. Many of the acclaimed leaders of America have had horrible personality traits, and some of the best people to hold office were bad leaders.
Question of the show: What makes a good leader?

S3E5: Is Jesus a Politic?
Question of the Show: Discussing Jesus and if he fits any political party.
A favorite refrain in left wing Christian writing is the idea that Jesus is a politic. That taken as a whole, Jesus leads us to a rather specific direction or policy because the values he expresses must lead us to these conclusions if we are honest. Of course, prosperity gospel preachers and MAGA and any other Christian is also sure that their specific policy is supported by Jesus. There are clearly commands in the Bible, but we’re not Jews so we already ignore some, and there’s many books written on the context of these commands. Is Jesus actually on the side of one party or another?

S3E3: How to Build a Government: I Am the Senate
Question of the Show: How do we represent large populations?
Last time, we discussed whether or not democracy is the best way to represent people. We broke down how it’s impossible for a group to establish a decision that fits everyone. Eventually, we ended with the question of power, that government is a gun enforcing the rules. Today, we’re going to continue that discussion

Can’t We All Just Get Along
I love the way Matt and Will weave through complex topics to try to bring civil discourse to divisive issues.
