Matthew 1:18-24 Transformation Tuesdays

    • Religion & Spirituality

Transformation Tuesdays was inspired by the CD "The Jesus Question" by Matthew Kelly. We recap the Gospel from the prior Sunday and give action steps and resources to transform our lives for that week every Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Morris Hall.

Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Hello, I’m Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione

Aaron Emig: And I’m Aaron Emig

Season: Advent

Question: How will you spend your Advent Season?

Gospel: Matthew 1:18-24

Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Because of his strong faith and his relationship with God, Joseph can in a sense say, OK. If this is what you’re asking me to do God, I’ll do it. I don’t really understand all of this, but I’ll do it.

Is our faith strong enough to trust in God, even if what He’s asking of us may not make a lot of sense (to us)?

Or may not be the most popular. People might criticize us or make fun of us.

Living a Godly life is not about being popular or doing what we want - but it’s more about doing what God wants.

How will you spend your Advent Season?

Aaron Emig:

Joseph…think about it…

He sorta got a raw deal… Barely spoke about in the gospels

Think of the pressure…

Father of Jesus who is the son of God

What would happen today if a husband found his wife was pregnant and they never had relations?

Joseph had blind faith in God

His belief in God kept him strong to raise Jesus

WOW…think about that responsibility?!?! Raising the Son of God…

Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: So, let us pray that we may have that closeness with God and faith in His ever-present love and guidance.

Seeing Mary and Joseph as true examples of that un-failing faith and lively hope in the power of God.

Aaron Emig:

Let's be like Joseph

Let’s have that blind faith of achieving a goal or dream.

Get uncomfortable

Let’s get out of our comfort zone

I once heard that if you want be successful in anything you need to be comfortable by being uncomfortable

Think about that…

Try something new and yes you will be bad at first but keep having that blind faith like Joseph and keep doing it and you will become a master
