    We don’t lose ourselves in motherhood, we lose ourselves in survival mode. We lose ourselves in the day to day rush. We lose ourselves in placing our value in the things we do, instead of the people we are. 

    We get caught in this trap of survival mode in early motherhood, and when we don’t intentionally rebuild our lives again, we tend to get stuck in a cycle of survival. This is where we lose ourselves. 

    Living a life you’re in love with means ditching the belief that you belong in survival mode. This is your sign to spread your wings and learn to fly. This is your time to rise above the crap, and remember that you are meant to bloom.

    Like it or not, you’re going to have to learn to love yourself if you want any of the personal growth, mental health, or happy hacks to stick. If you’re not loving yourself, you’re not really believing you’re worthy of anything better than you’ve already got. 

    It may be a controversial idea, but you cannot fully love others if you don’t first love yourself. If you’re not loving yourself, you’re not willing to accept the love others attempt to give you, and that means you’re not fully loving them to your greatest extent. 

    Self love is not selfish. Self care is not selfish. They are the basic human needs you keep trying to skip over. Letting your soul run dry for the sake of putting others first is slowly killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. In that version of the story, no one wins. I prefer the story where true love saves the day. That’s your story.

    You’re sitting here doubting your worth again. It’s become your comfort zone. You might be believing there’s no other way to live anymore. It can feel terrifying to step out of this comfort zone, it’s new, it’s unknown, and that’s scary. 

    Letting go of who you think you are is a process. It’s a give and take. It’s a back and forth. It’s a path with peaks and valleys. 

    It’s a leap of faith, stepping from your comfort zone of self doubt into the uncertainty of questioning your identity. 

    If you really knew who you are, you wouldn’t doubt yourself for a second, you wouldn’t doubt anything at all. Unfortunately, we are often quick to forget after making the discovery of who we are. It’s a process, and this is just the beginning.
