    E101. Returning to Running Postpartum

Returning to Running Postpartum with Emma Brockwell

Returning to exercise post birth, however you may birth is something that should be done with care and in a way that is respectful and supportive of the immense change your body has gone through and the need for recovery. Running however and it’s high impact nature is something that needs extra consideration and the reality is we could damage ourselves if our return to running is not periodised or appropriate to where our bodies are at.

This week I am joined by an amazing guest, specialist women’s health physiotherapist, mum and now author of her wonderful book ‘Why Did No One Tell Me’ Emma Brockwell @physiomumuk.

E97. Birth Debrief and Maternal Burnout with Illiyin Morrison

E97. Birth Debrief and Maternal Burnout with Illiyin Morrison

    Birth Debrief and Maternal Burnout
    Illiyin Morrison
Both physical and psychological birth injuries are documented to impact 1 in 20 people every year in the UK. Taking control of and understanding your birth can be a powerful tool in healing. I think it is important we keep things real, both in terms of the less idealistic side of birth but also the challenges that come with motherhood and how burnout can impact so many of us.
This week I am joined by Illiyin Morrison, known on Instagram @mixing.up.motherhood. Illiyin is a birth trauma specialist midwife, qualified hypnobirthing instructor, birth debrief facilitator and mother of two. This episode is for anyone who has had a baby, wants to share the load and to realise they are not alone in the thoughts and feelings they may be having.
    Illiyin’s book is available here:

E96. Motherhood Minds and Bodies with Chloe Madeley

E96. Motherhood Minds and Bodies with Chloe Madeley

Your body after you have had a baby is different, it looks different, it feels different, it may not even feel like yours right away and our minds, well they are practically rewired. The postpartum changes are often considered negatively or as something we must correct urgently. But how about we respect this journey, accept our feelings and allow our postpartum bodies and minds to become the strongest versions of ourselves instead of punishing them or outing them down. Easier said than done? Perhaps.
This week I am joined by Chloe Madeley, @madeleychloe, mum to her gorgeous baby girl Bodhi, personal trainer and best-selling author to name just a few achievements. Having heard Chloe speak so honestly about the realities of pregnancy and postpartum change I am really looking forward to chatting some more real talk with her.
Please remember to subscribe and I hope you enjoyed listening.

Good info but poor sound quality.

I want to get all of the information from this podcast, but the sound quality is so poor, I really can’t even hear half of what they’re saying.
