Play the Ball Where the Monkey Drops It | Golfing 101

Golf is one of the most challenging sports in the history of human kind. From the earliest cavemen hitting rocks with tree branches at empty gopher holes, to the most highly refined and technologically advanced titanium faced, carbon bodied drivers out there today, we have continually sought out perfection. Is perfection even possible???

In this week's episode, you will learn about the simple game of golf and how it parallels the complications of life. Do you react to life's circumstances with frustration and anger? Do you snap your wedges after a duffed chip? Are you looking towards the future or are you living for the moment? If you were to live in Calcutta during the British colonial era, you might have faced more trials and tribulations than any golfer alive today. Listen in to find out what happened on the golf course and how a troop of monkeys has begun to change the world!!!

Fishing with the Philippians | Memories and Mistakes

Fishing with the Philippians | Memories and Mistakes

Have you ever wondered what it would take to become a professional bass fisherman? Have you spent hours in a Walmart sporting goods aisle weighing the choice between pumpkinseed and watermelon sparkle? Does your favorite spinnerbait have colorado or willowleaf blades??? If you don't know what I am talking about, never fear, for Jay is here!!!

Fishing has been one of my fondest hobbies over the years. What I have learned as I have aged is that the sport, and the equipment used, is geared towards catching the fisherman much more than it is geared towards catching the fish. IYKYK. What does this look like as a Christian? Is there a correlation between hard work, fishing, and Jesus? Listen in to find out!!!

Every turkey hunting story has a special twist before resolving in glory! Some days, patience is all that is required to finish a hunt. Other days, guts are needed to finish the job. Hold still, yet, and there are are rare occasions where the activity will go from 0- 80 mph faster than a hot rod on a 1/4 mile drag strip!!! Today we will highlight one such story with a very special guest, Uncle Ray Mathis, from Vicksburg, Mississippi!

Hold on to your hats and sit tight because you will never guess just how every little detail will play out this week.

Growing Up in Mississippi | Dean and Nellie | The Latter Years

Growing Up in Mississippi | Dean and Nellie | The Latter Years

Our family heritage began long before my time and culminated in Mississippi Delta region of the country. Cotton picking, river running, BBQ, home cooked meals, catfish, crawfish, deer, turkeys, bass fishing, hospitality, and more are brought to mind when we picture the noble south. I picture a one room small white church sitting alongside the road, flanked by hardwood bottoms on one side and rolling fields of snow white cotton on the other. How might somebody have turned out being raised in such an environment as this?

Dean and Nellie Caldwell are unassuming individuals at first glance, and you would never guess the depth of their story. Dean Caldwell, AKA Pawpaw, had a long standing career as a Civil Engineer working along the Mississippi River, while Nellie Caldwell supported him along the way, raising a picture perfect family! They have made tremendous strides on a national level, a statewide level, and a local level in support of various projects of all types, and their love for people drives them to keep going.

Grab your gunnysack, stick up your thumb, and hitchhike with us as we venture back in time to days gone by!!!

The third turkey I killed highlights the importance of persistence, patience, and faith, and in the end, we were successful! But what paths have we had to walk to reach success???

    Listen on to find out!
