    Vision/Graduate Recognition

This week we will celebrate our youth with baptisms and the graduating class! In addition to this we will look into the Scripture to find clarity on Gods design for church leadership. We will also bring clarity to the next steps for MBCs pastoral team and future hiring. Please join us for a time of celebration and direction!

    Key Verse: Acts 14:21-23
“When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.”

    10. Living Hope - 1 Peter 5:8-14

    10. Living Hope - 1 Peter 5:8-14

As we wrap up our study in 1 Peter, we learn that Satan is cunning. We as believers are not called to be fearful of Satan, though. We are called, however, to be resistant to him and aware. Aware of his strategies. Aware of his hatred for us. And all the while also aware that we are not alone in the fight. We have a community of believers around the world that we experience a closeness through our similar new-nature. So let’s fight together. Let’s encourage one another. Let’s be victors over sin and Satan by the power of the Holy Spirit!

Key Verse: 1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

    9. Living Hope - God’s Sheep

    9. Living Hope - God’s Sheep

Have you ever been around sheep? What an interesting animal for God to use as a description of us! They are not the strongest, fastest, smartest… in fact they don’t really have much to offer at all! God doesn’t use this term to be as descriptive of us as it is used to be descriptive of Him. He is the Good Shepherd. We are His flock. He cares, guides, corrects, directs, provides, and protects us.

How does He do those things today? Through “under-shepherds”. God works within the local church to raise up Elders who are called to shepherd the flock for Him. Being sheep themselves, this calling is massive and heavy.

Join us this weekend to see more of what God’s word calls Elders to, and also the call of those who are not Elders as we are all HIS sheep!

Key Verse: 1 Peter 5:6 - ”Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.“

    8. Living Hope - 1 Peter 4:12-19

    8. Living Hope - 1 Peter 4:12-19

How was post-salvation living portrayed to you? Did you get the impression that everything was going to be comfortable and God was going to erase all your problems away once you got saved? Did you think that the ease of life would then make you happy?

This self-serving view of salvation is not what Scripture speaks about. The reality is that we are actually blessed when we suffer FOR and WITH Christ.
Hardships do not end when we place our faith in Jesus, but they are allowed into our lives order to refine us. Trials increase our trust in God and our hope of a perfect future in Heaven with Jesus. God’s Word tells us we can know that there is purpose and reward when we faithfully walk through the hard things of life by the power and example of Jesus.

Key Verse: 1 Peter 4:19 Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.

    7. Living Hope - 1 Peter 4:1-11

    7. Living Hope - 1 Peter 4:1-11

The Christian life is a battle and we are called to arm ourselves for it. In order to serve in the army of Christ we must have new values, new behavior, and a new mission. This only comes from a new heart. And nothing exposes our heart and values like suffering. We find out who we truly serve. Many times we find out our hearts aren’t as pure as we thought. So what does God call us to? To Arm ourselves with Christ and to Repent.

Come join us this weekend as we dive into how we can be empowered by Christ to new values, new behavior and a new mission! We will also be celebrating multiple baptisms this Sunday!

“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭

    The Pledge

    The Pledge

The prestige is the moment in a magic trick when the tension is lifted and the “magic” happens! As we celebrate Resurrection Sunday we remember the intensity of the cross, the tension of the tomb, and the excitement of the stone being rolled away. There wasn’t anything magical or sleight of hand about Jesus’ death and resurrection, but instead it was miraculous, and still is to this day.

Join us to understand what happens as God uncovers the truth found in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus through His word. Invite a friend or family member who needs to hear the Gospel, and pray with us for God to draw them in by His Spirit to new life in Jesus!
