Working Jewish Mom ,

Love this podcast!

I enjoy the interviews a lot and have read some really good books because of it. Zibby is warm and not intimidating. People high up the literary scene can be a little snooty, so I appreciate that Zibby is so down to earth and seems so approachable. She’s like a good friend whom you discuss books with. There was a really unkind review that said Zibby bought her way up because of her family money. I have known a lot of people who have inherited wealth and not all of them have created something unique like Zibby has which enriches so many people. Who cares if she has inherited wealth? She is doing great things with it. I am currently reading Zibby’s memoir, Bookends; she is an excellent writer on top of everything else!

Problematic politics

I started listening to Zibby years ago—when she actually read the books. It’s so uncomfortable listening to her interviews now when it’s obvious she doesn’t know the subject matter because she hasn’t read the book. Additionally, Zibby’s politics are problematic and have taken over the show. She often sounds like she’s forcing guests to comment on and agree with her bloodthirsty Zionist views. She supports genocide and racism and has no interest in presenting a balanced narrative. As a Jewish woman (and mother) I’m horrified by her lack of humanity and have stopped listening to this show.

My Go-To for Books

Love, love this podcast. Zibby is well read, down to earth and asks thoughtful questions to engage in meaningful conversations. I especially love the variety of books she covers. A must-listen for book lovers!
